Abstract:
A reaction solution to be used for image recording with an ink containing a coloring material in a dissolved or dispersed state in order to achieve a high level of image density with stability, wherein the reaction solution contains a polyvalent metal ion and an organic solvent to destabilize the dissolved or dispersed state of the coloring material in the ink in contact with the ink, has a pH of 2 or higher, and has a buffering action for pH, wherein the buffering action means it can maintain pH variation within the range of 0.5 before and after the addition of 1.0 ml of a 0.1 N aqueous lithium hydroxide solution to 50 ml of the reaction solution.
Abstract:
A liquid composition for use in a method for recording an image having a step of applying an ink containing a coloring material in a dissolved state or a dispersed state on a recording medium and a step of applying, on the above recording medium, a liquid composition destabilizing the dissolved state or a dispersed state of the above coloring material in the ink by the contact with the ink, characterized in that the above liquid composition comprises a multi-valent metal ion, water and water-soluble organic compounds 1 and 2, the liquid composition contains the above water-soluble organic compound 1 in a content X(%) of 15 mass % or more, and a content X(%) of the above water-soluble organic compound (1) in the liquid composition and a content Y(%) of the above water-soluble organic compound (2) in the liquid composition satisfy a specific relationship. The application of the above liquid composition on a recording medium allows the inhibition of the curling of the medium, while securing the good stability of discharge.
Abstract:
This invention provides an ink for an ink jet recording method in which an ink is ejected from a recording head through the action of thermal energy. This ink can improve ejection stability and further can realize high storage stability and color developing properties. The ink is characterized in that the ink contains a pigment represented by general formula (1), a dispersant, a water-soluble organic compound, and a coagulation inhibiting substance capable of inhibiting coagulation after dispersion and breaking of the pigment and the content (% by mass) of the coagulation inhibiting substance based on the total mass of the ink is not less than 0.4 time and less than 1.3 times the content (% by mass) of the pigment based on the total mass of the ink.
Abstract:
Water color ink which enables stable inkject recording without depending on a printing environment and the formation of an image having a practically uniform anti-abrasion feature, is free from image stain even at double-side recording and improved in obscurity of the outline portion of an image, and can produce a high-grade image with no color bleeding. Water color ink used in a system for forming an image using water color ink including a reaction liquid containing at least a polyvalent metal and a pigment dispersed element in which a pigment is dispersed by at least an anionic polymer dispersant, characterized in that specific conditions are met.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a cyan ink used for an ink set comprising a plurality of aqueous inks respectively containing at least water, a water-insoluble colorant and a plurality of water-soluble organic solvents including a good solvent for the water-insoluble colorant and a poor solvent for the water-insoluble colorant. The ratio between the good solvent and the poor solvent contained in the cyan ink is within a specific range, and the water-soluble solvent having the largest Ka value among the water-soluble organic solvents is a poor solvent. In addition, the ratio between the good solvent and the poor solvent contained in an arbitrary aqueous ink other than the cyan ink in the ink set and the ratio between the good solvent and the poor solvent in the cyan ink satisfy a certain relation.
