Abstract:
A dual-phase mouthwash composition for whitening teeth is disclosed. The dual-phase mouthwash composition includes an orally acceptable vehicle having a hydrophilic phase and a hydrophobic phase, a blue dye and/or blue pigment having a blue to blue-violet color with a hue angle in the CIELAB system from about 200 to about 320 degrees, and a zinc salt.
Abstract:
An oral care composition comprises (a) arginine or lysine; (b) zinc citrate and zinc oxide; (c) fluoride source; and (d) a silica abrasive which exhibits an acid pH when measured as an aqueous slurry. The composition is used in the manufacture of a product for application to the oral cavity of a subject in need thereof to improve oral health.
Abstract:
Disclosed are oral care compositions comprising an abrasive system, wherein the abrasive system comprises (a) a first particulate abrasive comprising at least 20 wt% pumice, based on the weight of the oral care composition, having an average particle size of from 20 to 300 microns; and (b) a second particulate abrasive comprising calcium carbonate having an average particle size of from 2 to 13 microns. There is also disclosed a method of cleaning teeth comprising applying the oral care composition to a tooth surface, the oral care composition being applied as a paste disposed in a prophy cup.
Abstract:
Described herein are oral care compositions comprising a basic amino acid; a combination of zinc ion sources; and a thickening system comprising a nonionic cellulose ether having a viscosity, measured at 2% in water at 25° C., of 4500 to 7500 cps; and a polysaccharide gum; along with methods of making and using same.
Abstract:
This invention relates to oral care compositions comprising arginine or lysine, zinc citrate and zinc oxide, fluoride source, and a silica abrasive which exhibits an acid pH when measured as an aqueous slurry as well as to methods of using and of making these compositions.
