Abstract:
The present invention provides oral care compositions comprising, by total weight of the composition: (a) 15 to 35 weight % calcium carbonate; and (b) 5 to 25 weight % talc. In one aspect, the total concentration of talc and calcium carbonate in the composition is greater than 35 weight %. In another aspect where the total concentration of talc and calcium carbonate is 35 weight % or less, the composition also includes an additional structuring agent, which comprises at least one of: (i) a cellulose ether thickening agent; and (ii) an inorganic thickening agent selected from thickening silica, a clay thickening agent, and mixtures thereof.
Abstract:
An oral care composition comprises (a) arginine or lysine; (b) zinc citrate and zinc oxide; (c) fluoride source; and (d) a silica abrasive which exhibits an acid pH when measured as an aqueous slurry. The composition is used in the manufacture of a product for application to the oral cavity of a subject in need thereof to improve oral health.
Abstract:
Described herein are oral care compositions comprising a basic amino acid; a combination of zinc ion sources; and from about 0.75 wt.% to about 2 wt.% of a chelating system; along with methods of making and using same.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an oral care composition comprising, by total weight of the composition: (a) 15 to 35 weight % calcium carbonate; (b) 0.5 to 2 weight % cellulose ether thickening agent; (c) 1 to 6 weight % clay thickening agent; and (d) at least 35 weight % water; wherein, when the composition comprises less than 28 weight % calcium carbonate and less than 4 weight % clay thickening agent, the cellulose ether thickening agent is present in an amount of greater than 1 weight %.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are oral compositions comprising an amino acid and a gelling agent. In certain embodiments, the chewable composition is in the form of a gummy comprising arginine and pectin. Related kits and methods of use are further provided.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to oral hydrogel compositions, more particularly to thermosensitive gel compositions, which undergo a sol-gel transition in the oral cavity, and which optionally comprise therapeutic actives for sustained release.
Abstract:
Described herein are oral care compositions comprising an amino acid; a combination of zinc ion sources; and a thickening system comprising a nonionic cellulose ether having a molecular weight of from about 300,000 to about 350,000; and a polysaccharide gum; along with methods of making and using same.
Abstract:
A refill dispensing bottle (1), comprising: a container (200) defining a chamber (220) storing a viscous flowable substance and having an opening (240) through which the substance is dispensable from the chamber; and a dispenser (100) comprising a seal (110) sealing the opening, a substance flow passageway fluidly connecting the chamber to an exterior of the container through the seal, and a vent (130) fluidly connecting the chamber to the exterior of the container through the seal in parallel with the substance flow passageway; wherein a cross- sectional area of the substance flow passageway, a cross-sectional area of the vent, and a viscosity of the substance are selected so that the substance at room temperature and atmospheric pressure is dispensed from the substance flow passageway at a rate of less than 35 cc/sec and at least 0.5 cc/sec with the bottle inverted and the vent unblocked.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are oral care compositions comprising a zinc amino acid halide complex, and linear polyvinylpyrrolidone and/or sodium tripolyphosphate, which compositions have improved rheological stability. Methods of making and using the compositions are also provided.
Abstract:
