    Abstract: Aliphatic perfluoroketones (I) are prepd. by reacting a perfluorocarboxylic acid salt R1-CO2M (II) with a perfluoroacyl fluoride R2-CO-F (III) in a polar aprotic solvent at 20-200 degrees C. In the formulae M is Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs or Ag; R1 is 2-50C perfluoroalkyl opt. contg. ether-O-function(s) R2 is 1-50C perfluoroalkyl opt. contg. ether-O-function(s). (II) may be prepd. from R1COF and a salt of formic or oxalic acid or of a Gp. IIIA to VIIA element oxyacid which is less strong than CF3CO2H, esp. M2CO3. Prepn. is in a polar aprotic solvent at 20-200 degrees C. Alternatively a mixt. of (II) and (III) may be prepd. from (R1CO)2O and an alkali metal fluoride. Perfluorolefins (which are difficult to obtain) are not used. High boiling (I) may be prepd. (I) are inert to acids, oxidants and heat. They may be used as heat transfer media or lubricants. In an example perfluoro-2,4-bis-(3,6-dimethyl-1,4-dioxanyl-2-oxylpentan-3-one was prepd. from potassium perfluoro- alpha-(3,6-dimethyl-1,4-dioxanyl-2-oxylpropionate and the corresp. perfluoroacyl fluoride in tetraglyme.

    Abstract: The invention relates to dispersing agents based on a mixture of at least one compound of the formula 1 in which Ar is benzene or naphthalene, X is -CH2-CH2- and/or -CH2-CH(CH3)-, 0 to (m-1) of the radicals A are hydrogen, 1 to m of the radicals A are benzoyl and/or naphthoyl, 1 to m of the radicals A are -CO-CM=CH-COOM and/or -CO-CH2-CH(SO3M)-COOM, M being a cation, R , R and R are hydrogen and/or alkyl having 1 to 14 carbon atoms, R is hydrogen and/or alkyl having 1 to 9 carbon atoms, n is a number from 1 to 150 and m is a number from 2 to 12, with compounds of the formula 2 in which R and R independently of one another are an alkyl group from methyl to butyl and are in the m-position relative to the hydroxyl group, R is hydrogen or methyl and Me is a cation, especially a proton or an alkali metal cation, alkaline earth metal cation or ammonium cation, and x and y are the numbers 0, 1 and 2, the total of these numbers being at least 1. The dispersing agents according to the invention are suitable for preparing dispersions of dyes, pigments, plant protection agents and pesticides and for preparing dyeing baths, padding baths and pastes for paper printing and textile printing.

    Abstract: Mixt. of at least three different cpd.s of formula (I) contains 30-90 wt% o,p-ionomers or 20-90 wt%, m,p-isomers are two other symmetrically and/or asymmetrically, substd. ionomers, p,p'-ionomers. Also claimed is the prepn. of the mixt. contg. below 5-50 wt% o,o'-, o,p'= and o,m'-ionomers of (I) by reacting terephthaldialdehyde (TPADA) with cpds. of formulae (II), (III) and (IV). Q = -CH2P(O)(OR2), -CH2-P(O)R(OR), -CH2-P(O)-R2 or -CH2-P+R3X; R = opt. substd. 1-6(1-4)C alkyl or aryl; and X = Cl or Br. 1 mol. equiv. TPADA is reacted with 1.05-1.5 and equiv. (II) then 0.05-0.5 (0.005-0.7) mol. equiv. (III) and 0.45-0.9 (0.25-0.7) mol. equiv. (IV). USE/ADVANTAGE - Used as optical brightness in natural or (semi)synthetic high monomer organic materials, partic. polyester fibres (claimed), as well as granulates, foams, fibre e.g. for use in textile webs, paper etc., coatings, etc.. Whitener is good and icd nuauces can be observed. Further uses include scintillators for e.g. electrophotography, spin-bath prepn. in the mfr. of e.g. wash-and-wear clothing and in mixts. contg. pigments for printing dyebaths.

    Abstract: Process for dyeing textile material with pigment dyes, which comprises 1. pretreating the textile material with a polymer which consists wholly or partly of monomeric units of the formula I (I) where R1 and R2 are each hydrogen, (C1-C22)alkyl which may be interrupted by -CO-NH- or -NH-CO-, or C1-C4-hydroxyalkyl, R3 and R4 are each hydrogen or methyl, and Y-is a monovalent anion or one equivalent of a polyvalent anion, 2. then dyeing with a pigment dye in the presence of a leveling or dispersing agent by the exhaust method and if necessary 3. treating the dyeing in a liquor with a pigment binder and subsequently fixing it. This process makes it possible to dye textile material, in particular ready-made jeans garments, with pigment dyes by an exhaust method.

The presence of the compounds of the formula I makes it possible to prepare stable and homogeneous aqueous formulations even of those surfactants which are otherwise only sparingly soluble or even insoluble in water.
