    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a plurality of biosensors permits entire electrode patterns for the inventive biosensors to be formed in nanoseconds, without regard to the complexity of the electrode patterns or the amount of conductive material that must be ablated to form them; the method comprises: providing a web of base substrate material having a metal conductive layer formed thereon; an electrode pattern is formed by laser ablation on the web, and the step is repeated a plurality of times to produce a plurality of electrode patterns at spaced intervals along the web at a rate of at least 500 per minute; a reagent is deposited on the web to at least partially cover each electrode pattern with the reagent; a covering layer or a spacing layer is laminated over the web to form a sample-receiving chamber for each biosensor; and a plurality of biosensors is cut from the resulting laminate.

    Abstract: An electrochemical biosensor (210) with electrode elements (274, 276) that possess smooth, high-quality edges (281, 283, 285, 287) with an edge definition better than 6~m. These smooth edges define gaps between electrode s, electrode traces and contact pads. Due to the remarkable edge smoothness achieved, the gaps can be quite small, which provides marked advantages in terms of test accuracy, speed and the number of different functionalities th at can be packed into a single biosensor. Further, the present application provides a biosensor production method in which entire electrode patterns fo r the inventive biosensors can be formed all at one, in nanoseconds - without regard to the complexity of the electrode patterns or the amount of conducti ve material that must be ablated to form them.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to various methods for measuring the amount of an analyte present in a biological fluid using an electrochemical testing process. The method is performed by applying a first signal having an Alternating Current (AC) component to the biological fluid and measuring a first response to the first signal. A second signal is applied to the biological fluid, wherein the second signal is a Direct Current (DC) signal and a second response is measured to the second signal. The first response is combined with the second response to produce an indication of the concentration of the analyte. The first signal comprises a multi-frequency excitation waveform formed by adding a plurality of individual waveforms of varying frequency together so that the biological fluid is excited by multiple frequencies at the same time such that the first response contains measurement data collected simultaneously for all of the multiple frequencies.

    Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed analyzing a glucose level of a person having diabetes. The method, in at least one example, comprises receiving into a computing device a plurality of measured glucose values from a continuous glucose monitoring system coupled to a person having diabetes, analyzing the plurality of measured glucose values with a probability analysis tool on the computing device to determine a glucose threshold (g lc ), and a boundary (g ? ) glucose value at a probability threshold where the person having diabetes requires at least a predetermined insulin dose, and comparing, with the computing device, the boundary glucose value (g ? ) to the glucose threshold (g lc ), wherein if the boundary glucose value (g ? ) is greater than the glucose threshold (g lc ) then the computing device performs an alert on a user interface.
