Abstract: PURPOSE: To efficiently and two-dimensionally display information on an object. CONSTITUTION: A two-dimensional pattern 50 displayed on a two-dimensional tag is constituted of a first area 52 constituted of a square position reference area 60 for identifying a position and a posture at the center and an identification area 62 for one data cell at a periphery, a second area a54 where white and black patterns alternately appear for identifying the read start position of information and a third area 56 for displaying information on the encoded object. When the square area of the first area 52 is detected, the position of the two-dimensional tag where the two-dimensional pattern 50 is displayed can be detected. When the data cell where the black and white patterns alternately appear in the second area 54 is detected, the posture of the two-dimensional tag can be detected and corrected. Thus, an other peripheral part where much information quantity can be displayed can effectively be used.

In the method, the object being the video content is selected (S1). The movement of the selected object is displayed as the track on a prescribed projection face (S2) and a position on the displayed track is instructed (S3). Thus, access to the desired scene in the video content is executed (S4).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make discriminable and sortable the motions by calculating a matching degree between the unknown and reference motions and sorting the unknown motions.
SOLUTION: A procedure S1 includes a part 100 which photographs each of (k) types of reference motions and stores the video images showing these reference motions and a part 200 which performs the wavelet transformation of the stored video images and calculates a wavelet expansion coefficient. The (k) shows the number of types of motions which are used for the sorting and can be optionally selected. A procedure S2 includes a part 300 which photographs the unknown motions and stores the video images showing these unknown motions and a part 400 which performs the wavelet transformation of the stored video images and calculates a wavelet expansion coefficient. A procedure S3 includes a part 500 which calculates a degree of coincidence between the unknown and reference motions based on the wavelet expansion coefficients calculated at both parts 200 and 400 and sorts the unknown motions based on this calculation result.

The object area is plane-approximated 63 with more than one polygonal plane so that a luminance value and the errors of colors become within prescribed thresholds. A primary difference image is obtained 64 by obtaining a difference between the original image and the image which is plane- approximated. An nth order (n>=1) difference image is encoded, compressed 65 and the image which is plane-approximated and the encoded nth other difference image are stored 66. The (n+1)th order difference image is obtained 67 from a difference between the image obtained by expanding the compressed nth order difference image with the nth order difference image.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for effectively discriminating occlusion of an object, such as humans, having flexibility. SOLUTION: After initialization (step 1), an image is inputted (step 2), and an image area is extracted (step 4) by separating a background and a foreground from each other. In extraction of the area, the shape of a two-dimensional histogram of a color space can be used. In consideration of all possible connecting methods of the extracted area, a graph is formed (step 5), while using an area between frames as a node. The node can be provided with a variable value of a confidence factor, and an edge connecting the nodes together can be provided with image characteristics of the color space and an actual space as the weight. In a graphing process (step 6), path finding is carried out on a path of a graph, and a connecting method having a low possibility as the path is eliminated from a path confidence factor. A branching node is detected as occlusion, to be marked up. When connectivity of the occlusion part is a single possibility, this connection is selected.
