Abstract: Se divulga un método y un aparato para intercambiar mensajes a través de un sistema de distribucion inalámbrico (WDS) entre grupos que funcionan en diferentes frecuencias. Un sistema de comunicaciones inalámbricas incluye una pluralidad de unidades de transmision/recepcion inalámbricas (WTRUs) y una pluralidad de conjuntos de servicios básicos (BSSs). Al menos una WTRU pertenece a cada BSS. Una WTRU fuente que desea enviar un paquete WDS a una WTRU destino en otro BSS envía un mensaje de notificacion de disponibilidad (AN) a las WTRUs a las que la WTRU fuente está asociada con el fin de indicar que la WTRU fuente no se encontrará disponible para recibir datos. Luego, la WTRU fuente ingresa a un canal en el que acampa la WTRU destino y envía un paquete a la WTRU destino. Luego de la transmision del paquete o de recibir una confirmacion desde la WTRU destino, la WTRU fuente vuelve al canal original.

Abstract: Un método para control de admision de llamada en un sistema de comunicacion inalámbrica que tiene una unidad inalámbrica de transmision/recepcion (WTRU) y un controlador de red de radio (RNC), que comprende los pasos de: solicitar una admision de llamada por parte de la WTRU del RNC; verificar el nivel de batería de la WTRU y determinar una primera velocidad de bit en base al nivel de batería; verificar la carga de célula y determinar una segunda velocidad de bit en base a la carga de célula; seleccionar la velocidad de bit más baja entre la primera velocidad de bit y la segunda velocidad de bit; asignar recursos físicos para la llamada; y admitir la llamada a la velocidad de bit más baja. También se divulga un método para control de congestionamiento tanto en el enlace ascendente como en el descendente del sistema de comunicacion inalámbrica, un método para mantenimiento de enlace de usuario en el sistema de comunicacion inalámbrica y tanto en el enlace ascendente como descendente del sistema de comunicacion inalámbrica, un método para ejecutar traspaso en el sistema de comunicacion inalámbrica, y un método para control de potencia en el sistema de comunicacion inalámbrica.

Abstract: A method and system for autonomous channel coordination for a wireless distribution system (WDS) are disclosed. A wireless communication system includes a plurality of access points (APs) and the APs communicate each other via a WDS. A coordinated channel group (CCG) of a plurality of member APs is established. The member APs of the CCG camp on a WDS channel used for the WDS among the member APs of the CCG. One AP among the member APs of the CCG is designated as a master AP. The master AP coordinates with other member APs of the CCG for selecting and configuring the WDS channel for the CCG and addition and deletion of member APs. By allowing APs to define a CCG, changes of the WDS channel are performed autonomously while maintaining connectivity.
