Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a monoglyceride directly from glycerol and a fatty acid in the absence of a catalyst without using an expensive concentration apparatus such as a molecular still, in a short time, with which a product having a high content of ≥55 wt.% monoglyceride is obtained. SOLUTION: The method for producing the monoglyceride by reacting glycerol with a fatty acid in the absence of a catalyst comprises mixing operation of glycerol and a fatty acid in which the peripheral speed of the tip of the blade of a stirrer is ≥3 m/s and the number of passes is ≥0.1 time/h. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an alkyl glycoside which is a low-irritating nonionic surfactant and capable of acting as a foam stabilizer, etc., for an anionic surfactant in a short time by reacting a sugar with a higher alcohol in the presence of an acidic catalyst while applying ultrasonic waves to the reactional mixture. SOLUTION: A reactional vessel 1 having an external circulating line 8 equipped with an ultrasonic generator 2, an ultrasonic application chamber 3 and a rotary pump 4 is charged with a sugar such as glucose, a higher alcohol comprising a mixture, etc., of decyl alcohol with lauryl alcohol and myristyl alcohol and an acidic catalyst such as p-toluenesulfonic acid and the circulation is started to start the application of ultrasonic waves. The pressure in the system is decompressed with a vacuum device to start the heat-up. Water produced by the reaction is efficiently removed to carry out the reaction. Thereby, the objective alkyl glycoside which is a low-irritating nonionic surfactant and capable of not only producing stable bubbles by itself but also acting as a foam stabilizer on an anionic surfactant is obtained by the reaction in a short time.
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a method for fractionating a sucrose fatty acid ester having a specific composition from a reaction mixture of sucrose fatty acid esters by a simple operation without using an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:Sucrose fatty acid esters composed of a mixture of [SME], [SDE] and [SPE] ([SME] is a sucrose fatty acid ester having 1 ester exchange degree, [SDE] is a sucrose fatty acid ester having 2 ester exchange degree and [SPE] is a sucrose fatty 7 acid ester having >=3 ester exchange degree) are mixed with fats and oils under heating and the prepared heated mixture is incorporated with water to extract a sucrose fatty acid ester having high [SME] content. The prepared water phase and the oil phase are separated to give a sucrose fatty acid ester having high [SME] content and sucrose fatty acid esters having high [SDE] and [SPE] contents.

PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound useful for low-irritating surfactant without deterioration of smell by reacting a sugar with a higher alcohol while irradiating the reaction system with light having specific wavelength, and then carrying out removal of unreacted higher alcohol and decoloration by light irradiation. CONSTITUTION:When a sugar is reacted with a higher alcohol or the sugar is firstly reacted with a lower alcohol and then reacted with a higher alcohol to produce an alkylglycoside, the above-mentioned reaction is carried out while irradiating the reaction system with light having 100-800nm wavelength, and unreacted higher alcohol is removed from the resultant unreacted higher alcohol- containing alkylglycoside or the unreacted higher alcohol-containing alkylglycoside is once more irradiated with light having 100-800nm wavelength and then unreacted higher alcohol is removed, or an alkylglycoside solution after removing unreacted higher alcohol is irradiated with light having 100-800nm wavelength to provide the objective decolored alkylglycoside having good hue.
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve productivity by producing a high-quality alkylglycoside excellent in hue and recycling separated unreacted sugar for the reaction. CONSTITUTION:In production of an alkylglycoside using a sugar and a higher alcohol, the sugar is reacted with the higher alcohol using an acid catalyst and unreacted solid sugar is subsequently separated from a reaction mixture containing the unreacted solid sugar. The resultant clean reaction solution is further subjected to an aging reaction using a thin membrane reactor, etc., thus giving the objective alkylglycoside containing
