Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a shampoo composition for hair with low viscosity, excellent in foaming and detergent properties and further excellent in fragrance by including a prescribed weight ratio of an anionic surfactant and a nonionic surfactant. SOLUTION: This composition includes (A) >=30wt.% anionic surfactant, (B) >=0.5wt.% nonionic surfactant and (C) water as active ingredients. The weight ratio of components B/A is 0.01-0.6, and that of components C/B is 1.5-100. An excellent fragrance is obtained by including 0.01-80wt.% flavor compound having aldehyde group in spite of a concentrated surfactant system. The composition has a low viscosity of 100-3000cp at 30 deg.C while keeping the high foaming and detergent properties without formulating a viscosity-lowering agent such as polyethylene glycol which spoils the foaming properties, in spite of having high concentration of the surfactants.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a substrate surface with a highly water-repelling property economically and simply by precipitating crystalline of a wax or an oil and fat which has higher melting point than the temperature of the environments where the substrate is used on the surface of the substrate. CONSTITUTION: A water-repelling property-imparting method to be applied for rain outfits, etc., involves heating a substrate to the temperature close to the melting point of a wax or an oil and fat and applying the wax or the oil and fat to the surface of the substrate. The method further involves cooling the substrate to room temperature to precipitate crystalline on the surface of the substrate and, if necessary, keeping the substrate at a prescribed temperature for a prescribed period to provide water repelling surface. In the case where triglyceride is for example used as the oil and fat, an excellent water-repelling surface can be obtained by keeping the substrate at about 40 deg.C for two weeks. Or, the or oil and fat is dissolved in an organic solvent and after the obtained solution is applied to the surface of a substrate, the substrate is kept at the temperature at which the organic solvent volatilizes to precipitate crystalline on the surface of the substrate and, if necessary, the substrate is kept at a prescribed temperature for a prescribed period to provide the surface having a water repelling property.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a color forming composition which contains neither a coloring matter nor a pigment, has excellent stability and safety, and forms a continuously changing color, by dissolving a specified amount of an alkenylsuccinic acid (derivative) in an aqueous alcohol. CONSTITUTION:An alkenylsuccinic anhydride obtained from a 16C or higher olefin and maleic anhydride is hydrolyzed or reacted with an amino compound (e.g., an amino acid) to give an alkenylsuccinic acid (derivative) (A) of the formula (wherein R1 is an 8-36C straight-chain or branched alkenyl; R2 is OH or an amidated amino acid residue). 0.1-10wt% component A is dissolved in a liquid (B) comprising water and, if necessary, 50wt% or less alcohol, thus giving a color forming composition comprising an aqueous alcohol solution of component A. This composition can be utilized for cosmetics such as a shampoo or a rinse, decorative goods such as an ornament for the alcove, an an optical element such as a diffraction grating.

SOLUTION: This medulla care agent for hair cosmetics includes a compound (pref. an α-hydroxy acid, a β-hydroxy acid, a 1,2-dicarboxylic acid, a 1,3- dicarboxylic acid, an aromatic carboxylic acid, an amino acid, a peptide, an N-acylamino acid, urea, an urea derivative, guanidine, a guanidine derivative, a primary amine an alcohol an aromatic alcohol or an alkyl ketone) having a functional group selected from a group consisting of amino, hydroxy, carbonyl and carboxy groups, and 30-500 molecular weight, as an active principle. The hair adsorption ability is pref. 0.1-40 wt.% when treating hair bundle under a condition of (1:10) bath ratio at 40 deg.C for 60 min.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent which is lowly irritating to the skin and also has excellent antimicrobial activity by incorporating a glycolic acid N- alkylamide sulfate and an antimicrobial agent in a detergent. SOLUTION: This detergent composition comprises (A) 0.1 to 95wt.% glycolic acid N-alkylamide sulfate and (B) 0.01 to 5wt.% antimicrobial agent. As a glycolic acid N-alkylamide sulfate to be used, there can be mentioned, for example, a compound represented by the formula:, wherein R represents a 6-22C linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl group; R represents a hydrogen atom, or a 1-22C alkyl or alkenyl group; M represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, ammonium, a 2-9C alkanolammonium, a 1-22C alkyl or alkenylammonium or the like. As an antimicrobial agent to be used, there can be mentioned, for example, a metal salt of 2-mercaptopyridine N-oxide wherein the metal is calcium, magnesium, barium, strontium, zinc or the like.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a coating composition which gives a film capable of maintaining an excellent water repellency over a long period of time by using as the constituent a wax, oil or fat each having a melting point higher than the service environmental temperature. CONSTITUTION: This composition contains a wax, oil or fat each having a melting point higher than the service environmental temperature, or a mixture thereof. As the wax, oil or fat to be used, those having a melting point of at least 40 deg.C, especially at least 50 deg.C, are desirable, considering the usual service environment. To obtain good water repellency, it is desirable that the acyl groups in the wax, oil or fat are saturated. The acyl groups wherein a part or all of the hydrogen atoms thereof is substituted by fluorine atoms are also allowable. As the wax, particularly palmitylketene dimer and myristylketene dimer are preferably used. As the oil or fat, a triglyceride of the formula (wherein R , R and R are each an 11-31C linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl) is preferably used, each of the R , R and R being preferably an alkyl from the viewpoint of improving the water repellency of the composition.
