    Abstract: An AC plasma display panel comprises a plurality of scanning electrodes and maintaining electrodes which are parallel to each other, formed on a first glass substrate 1, a plurality of ribs 9 formed on a second glass substrate 7 and arranged orthogonally to said electrodes, a data electrode formed on the second glass substrate 7, positioned between the ribs 9 and arranged parallel to ribs 9, wherein a discharge cell 2 is defined by dividing the space between two ribs 9 with the scanning electrodes 3b and 3c, and the maintaining electrodes 4b and 4c. According to the above-mentioned constitution, a discharge region can be widened without decreasing the opening ratio, and an AC plasma display panel with a high brightness and high efficiency can be obtained without increasing the number of production process steps and the cost of the production.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas discharge tube display panel with fine pixel display ability, without erroneous displays or discharge flickering by forming partition walls partitioning the discharge space with low-softening-point portions and high-softening-point portions, so that the softening point of the low-softening- point portions can be relatively lower than that of the high-softening-point portions. SOLUTION: A display panel has a front glass substrate 1 provided with electrodes, a back glass substrate 9 provided with electrodes, a discharge space formed between both substrates, partition walls 11 to partition the discharge space and sealing portions 18 to paste both substrates together, via the partition walls. The partition walls 11 are formed with low-softening-point portions 11b and high-softening-point portions 11a, so that the softening point of the low- softening-point portions 11b can be relatively lower than that of the high- softening-point portions 11a to adhere the low-softening-point portions 11b to the front glass substrate 1 with heating.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a luminescent panel capable of arranging a picture element region in high density, with less uneven brightness, and no complex outside wiring, and provide its driving device and a color image display. CONSTITUTION:A luminescent panel has a plurality of through-holes 12a for exposing part of each filament 8 in an insulating plate 11 covering a plurality of filaments 8 arranged on a back base board 7, and each through-hole 12a forms one unit of a picture element region together with fluorescent material layers 13a-13c formed in the adjacency of the through-holes 12a. The fluorescent material layers 13a-13c of each picture element region are housed in a cavity 15a of a separating wall 14 formed on the insulating plate 11 and separated from an adjacent fluorescent material layer. The cavity 15a forms a discharge space by using a translucent front plate 16 installed on the separating wall 14 as a cover, each discharge space communicates with the through-hole 12a at its one end in the lengthy direction and faces an anode 17 formed on the lower surface of the front plate 16 at its other end.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas discharge display panel, in which the share of an effective display area in relation to the whole area occupied with one unit of a gas discharge type display panel is large, by forming lead electrodes of electrodes, which are provided on two glass plates, on a narrow sealing area along the end surface of both glass plates. SOLUTION: A lead electrode 15 for a scanning electrode and a lead electrode 16 for a maintaining electrode are formed on the sealing area in the peripheral part of the front surface glass plate 1 having the scanning electrode and the maintaining electrode, and thereafter, a back surface glass plate 9 having an address electrode and each electrode are overlapped with each other so as to opposite to each other through a discharge space, and they are adhered to each other by the frit 21 at the sealing area of the peripheral part of each glass plate. A gas discharge display panel, in which the share of an effective display area 51 in relation to the whole area occupied with one unit of the gas discharge display panel is large, is thereby obtained.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas discharge display panel, in which the maintaining period, which contributes the display emission, among the operating period of a gas discharge display panel is large, by setting the number of arrangement of scanning electrodes and maintaining electrodes, which are arranged opposite to writing electrodes through a discharge space, at the specified number or less. SOLUTION: A discharge space 7 is formed between a glass plate 2 and a glass plate 11, and plural scanning electrodes 3 are provided on the surface of the glass plate 2 in the glass plate 11 side in practically parallel with each other, and plural maintaining electrodes 4 are arranged in parallel with each other between the scanning electrodes 3 so as to be inserted each other and so as to form each pair with the scanning electrode 3. Plural writing electrodes 10 are provided on the surface of the glass plate 11 in the glass plate 2 side so as to be opposite to the scanning electrodes 3 and the maintaining electrodes 4 through the discharge space 7. With this structure, the number of each arrangement of the scanning electrode 3 and the maintaining electrode 4 is set at the specified number or less. A gas discharge display panel, in which the share of the maintaining period, which contributes for the display emission, among the operating period of the discharge type display panel is large, is thereby obtained.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality display panel which reduces the number of manufacturing processes, is high in yield, is inexpensive, prevents faulty discharges, and is free from the failure to turn on and display flickering. SOLUTION: This panel comprises a scanning electrode 3 and a keeping electrode 4 which are provided on a first glass substrate that is one of a pair of opposite glass substrates; a plurality of partitions 9 arranged in rows and lines and sandwiched between the pair of glass substrates; a frame 11 defining the peripheries of the pair of glass substrates; and a plurality of data electrodes 8 provided between the rows of partitions 9 on the second glass substrate 7 and being perpendicular to the scanning electrode 3 and the keeping electrode 4. In this case, the ends of the adjacent lines of partitions are linked together by the rows of partitions 9, and the rows of partitions 9 are positioned so that they alternate at both ends of each line of partitions.
