Abstract: PURPOSE:To accomplish a plasma display device which gives stable main discharging and high brightness, high contrast characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A priming electrode 5, dielectric substance layer 6, fluorescent substance film 14 are furnished on the inner surface of a back plate 4, while a clear stripe-form anode 12, insulative diaphragm 15, and cathode 16 are provided on the inside surface of a facade plate 1. The insulative diaphragm is made in matrix form and is provided with a number of No.1 parallel line regions 15a, stretching in one direction, and a number of No.2 parallel line regions 15b extending as intersecting these parallel line regions 15a. The cathode 16 is made in the form of ladder, whose longer edges are located in two adjoining No.2 parallel line regions 15b while shorter edges positioned in the No.1 parallel line regions 15a. Thereby the current density of the cathode is enhanced, and a high brightness is obtained owing to the see-through type, and also a good contrast is presented because of viewing through ladder-form cathode. Thus a severance of cathode does not directly cause futal damage.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable ultra-violet image to pass a transparent substrate effectively and to be converted to electric signals by a photo-electric conductive membrane with high sensitivity, by using a particular transparent substrate and a particular photo-electric conductive membrane. CONSTITUTION:In a camera tube target made by coating a transparent substrate 4 with photo-electric conductive membranes 6-8 via a transparent conductive membrane 5, photo-electric conductive membranes 6-8 which are made mainly of amorphous Se and include below 40 atomic % of As over almost all area in the direction of thickness. As the transparent substrate 4, a material which transmits ultraviolet ray of wavelengths within 400nm, namely silica glass, crystal or the like is used. If the added As content is 0, not only the baking characteristic deteriorates but also, if it is left to stand in the atmosphere at about 70 deg.C or over for a long period of time, Se crystalisesto become grey metal selenium. If the added As content increases to 40 atomic % or over, all of dark current, afterimage and baking increase. Thus it becomes possible to form image with high sensitivity for ultraviolet image.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve support strength and prevent the generation of spark by providing a notch section that opposes to an indium ring on the circumferential edge of a mesh electrode, burying a low melting point metal layer in this notch section, and fixing the mesh electrode. CONSTITUTION:An image pickup tube is formed by fixing a mesh plate 18 made of metal thin plates and a mesh electrode 17 consisting of first and second annular metal plates 9 and 10 that insert the plate on a difference in level 5 on the inner circumferential surface of a glass bulb 4 that makes a faceplate 3 weld with an indium ring 2. In this case, a notch section 17a consisting of four recessed notches and opposing to the indium ring 2 is formed on the outer circumferential edge of the mesh electrode 17 and a low melting point metal layer 13 is buried in this and then the electrode 17 is fixed. As a result, the running of the low melting point metal layer 13 is improved and support strength is reinforced. Simultaneously, the protrusion of the layer into the indium rig 2 side is removed and the generation of spark can be prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To display the temperature distribusion and the visible ray optical image of an object to be detected on a picture monitor by picking up the image of an object to be detected for measuring the temperature distribution by a television camera for picking up the optical image of the visible ray in the same detecting angle of visibility as an infrared ray camera. CONSTITUTION:An infrared ray radiated from the object 1 to be detected passes through a hood 3, a half mirror 4, a lens 5 and an optical chopper 8 to form an image on the light receiving surface of one dimensional infrared ray detector 9. An infrared ray signal generating circuit 11 reads the output signal of the one dimensional infrared ray detector 9 by making a temperature measured by a thermistor 12 as a reference signal and outputs the signal of the positive polarity or the negative polarity of the difference as an absolute temperature distribution signal. The visible light from the object is reflected on the half mirror 4 and forms the image on the light receiving surface of the television camera 7 via the lens 6. A television signal is synthesized with the temperature distribution signal in a television signal synthesizing circuit 13 and displayed on the screen of the cathode ray tube of a picture display device 14.
