    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent blank parts from producing on heat sensitive recording paper by a thermal head wherein a plurality of parallelogram heating elements are arranged in the linear form, the length of each heating element is specified relative to the paper feeding pitch, and the width of facing end sides thereof is also specified. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of parallelogram heating resistors 12 are provided on an insulating substrate 11 in parallel in the linear form. A separate electrode 13 is connected to one end of each heating resistor 12 and a common electrode 14 is connected to the other end thereof, thus constituting a thermal head. Each heating resistor 12 is so formed that the length (l) between end sides 12a and 12b thereof is within a range meeting the relationship of equation I in relation with the paper feeding pitch (p) of a thermal head. The width W of the end sides 12a, 12b is set to meet the relationship of equation II in relation with the inclination theta of lateral sides 12c, 12d and the paper feeding pitch (p). The thermal head thus constructed is mounted to a heat sensitive recorder such that the heating resistors 12 run perpendicularly to the direction Y of movement of the heat sensitive paper.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an electromechanical conversion element capable of a large displacement by putting a reinforcement plate and elastic modulus of which has an anisotropy between two piezo-electric bodies, the surfaces of which are provided with electrodes respectively, in order to make them into a laminate structure. CONSTITUTION:The electrodes 11 are attached to the surfaces and backs of two piezo-electric bodies 12 of lead zirconium titanate, the shim plate 13 the elastic modules of which has an anisotropy is put between the said bodies and these are laminated in a body. In this case, a carbon fiber sheet the fiber layer of which is impregnated with epoxy adhesive is used for the shim plate 13 that provides the effect of trap or reinforcement, the elastic modulus shows the maximum value in the extended direction of the fiber that extends in one direction and does the minimum value in the direction orthogonal to said direction. When a bimorph is made of the sheet, the direction of the expansion and its contraction is made to agree with the direction of extension of the fiber in order to obtain the quantity of displacement.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the accuracy of positioning adjustment of magnetic head etc. by reducing the residual displacement, through the use of porcelain plate in normal dielectric phase within the operating temperature. CONSTITUTION:As the electric mechanical conversion element used for high positioning control having high magnetic rod accuracy narrow in the recording track width for VTR etc., the material in which the residual polarization is less and the part comparatively greater dielectric constant is present at normal temperature is utilized as the normal dielectric phase at slightly higher temperature than the Curie temperature of a high dielectric porcelain. As an example, the porcelain plate 11 of a suitable size in which the Curie temperature is about -10 deg.C and the dielectric constant at normal temperature is about 100000 is used, and the element 10 of bimorph construction is constituted by clipping the metal substrate 13 between two porcelain plates forming the electrodes 12a and 12b for the both major planes. The amount of residual displacement due to electrorestriction effect when the polarity of the applied voltage to the element 10 is inverted with the power supply 14, is about 1.4% to the maximum amplitude, and it is less around one digit than utilizing the piezoelectric effect of the ferrodielectric porcelain and the positioning adjustment of head can be made with good accuracy.
