PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network system that can sufficiently effectively utilize frequency bands and to provide a communication method, an optical communication apparatus and method. SOLUTION: In the network system and the communication method of this invention, a control and management means for controlling and managing each information device connected by a communication channel transmits a prescribed control signal to a corresponding information device or all information devices on request of transmission of a data signal from the information devices, and the corresponding information device or all the information devices filter the data signal as required so as to route only required paths among communication channels on the basis of the control signal received from the control management means. Further, in the optical communication apparatus and method, a corresponding light emission means among a plurality of the light emission means is subjected to blink drive according to a type of supplied information, lights emitted from the light emission means are multiplexed, and the multiplexed light is outputted to a prescribed connected optical communication line. SOLUTION: A server is sold in a state that, for example, a character string included in an IP address or a domain name is previously stored in a non- volatile memory 3 at the time of shipment from a factory. In a setting after being sold, the character string included in the IP address or the domain name is transmitted toward a name server 102 according to depression of a key 9a for example.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a router apparatus that can simply and reliably guarantee security. SOLUTION: The router apparatus is arranged on an upper surface 15a of a case 15 that can be confirmed from appearance, and has a physical switch for connecting and disconnecting WAN(Wide Area Network) and LAN(Local Area Network), thus reliably disconnecting the LAN from the WAN without carrying out internal setting by software. Also, even a user who does not have expertise can easily perform the disconnection.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer system that can optimize a gap count and to provide a data transfer control device, and a data transfer method. SOLUTION: In the data transfer system that has devices with different delay times when data are returned in response to a transfer speed of the data, transferring prescribed data in matching with the lowest transfer speed in the data transfer system can much more effectively utilize a band used for the transfer.

PURPOSE: To a provide stable focusing servo by controlling a changeover means so as to select ad output a focusing servo clock after the pull-in of focusing servo. CONSTITUTION: A spindle driver 7 outputs lock signal when a spindle motor 6 reaches a prescribed revolution speed and informs a DSP 47 of stable rotation. The DSP 47 drives to rotate the spindle motor 6 in compliance with a demand from a host computer 3 when a magnetooptical disk 5 is mounted on a turntable by means of a loading mechanism 8. The DSP 47 moves a pickup 9 through a pulse width moduration(PWM) circuit 45 by means of a pickup driver 44, locates a beam spot out of a user's area and prevents erroneous erasure.

PURPOSE:To restrict max. power consumption as occasion demands. CONSTITUTION:At the time of starting rotation of a spindle motor 11 where the power consumption becomes max., and at the time of braking the motor from a fixed rotation, a switch 25 is changed by control of a microcomputer 26 for the purpose of restricting a value of a current signal it to be supplied to the spindle motor 11, so as to diminish a gain of a variable gain amplifier circuit 28. By diminishing the gain, the value of the current signal it is restricted. By this method, the max. power consumption can be limited to, for example, half the value. Thus, the power consumption at the time of rising rotation of the spindle motor 11 and/or at the time of falling rotation is variable, thus facilitating the connection of the optical disk device to various systems in different power source capacity and cooling condition.

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for adding a compensation circuit, to avoid the adverse effect caused by the change with the lapse of time and temperature characteristics and to perform the gain adjustment of a stable servo system. CONSTITUTION:The servo system has an open loop characteristics (one around transfer function) to be G(s).H(s) where G(s) is the transfer function of a phase compensation portion and H(s) in the transfer function of a two dimensional actuator, an optical disk and an actuator driver. In this system, the gain is corrected to become 0dB at the cutoff frequency required by the performance of an optical disk device. That is, the gain of the transfer function G(s) is changed and the gain is corrected to become 0dB at the frequency. In order to obtain the gain at the cutoff frequency, a sine wave with the frequency which is the same as the cutoff frequency is inserted to the servo loop as disturbance, performs a division Vy/Vx where Vy and Yx are before and after the signals, respectively, the value is Fourier transformed and the gain at the cutoff frequency is obtained.

PURPOSE:To perform servo processing and other processing by means of a digital signal processor (DSP) only without requiring any microcomputer. CONSTITUTION:Input-side registers 36 and 37 are provided between a DSP 38 and A/D conversion circuit 6 and registers 40-42 are provided on the output side of the DSP 38. In addition, a timing signal generation circuit 50 which controls the input-side registers 36 and 37, output-side registers 40-42. and DSP 38 is provided. Consequently, the binding time of the DSP 38 for servo processing can be reduced, because the DSP 38 can perform processing other than servo processing during, for example, an ADD-converting period. Therefore, the DSP 38 can perform processing other than the servo processing which has been conventionally performed by means of a microcomputer.

PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a memory which stores a program. CONSTITUTION:A system program, which is needed for a DSP 14 to drive an optical disk 1, is stored in a ROM 16 which is incorporated in a controller 15. The system program consists of plural subprograms which are capable of individually processed. These subprograms are read from the ROM 16 by the DSP 14 as required, transferred to a program RAM 13 through a DSP data bus 9 and stored. The DSP 14 executes a servo operation in accordance with the program stored in the program RAM 13.

PURPOSE:To perform a seek operation at high speed and accurately by multiplying the number of differential tracks of the present track number and a targeted track number by a time coefficient, and setting the number of times of jump by comparing a sector address with a computed result. CONSTITUTION:At the time of seeking a targeted address by the jump of several tracks on an optical disk in which one round of the track is divided into M sectors, a comparator 1 detects the number N of differential tracks of the targeted track address Na and the present track address No, and an arithmetic circuit 2 multiplies the number N of tracks by the time coefficient T (T=one track jump time Tj/passing time Ts of one sector), and discriminates whether or not B=M-N.T exceeds the sector address Sc of the present track, and a jump number setting circuit 3 supplies the number N of track jump when it is Sc B to a jump pulse generation circuit 4.
