CONSTITUTION:This detector is provided with first prisms 31, 32, 33 reflecting the light beam LA1 from the light source LD in the direction of a magneto- optical disk 10, an azimuth rotator 34 rotating a poarizing surface of a return beam from the disk 10, second prisms 35, 36, 37, 43, 44 separating the return beam from the disk 10 made incident through the azimuth rotator 34 and leading it to photodetectors PD1, PD2 provided on the same substrate 40, a third prism 39 which is stuck on the side end surfaces of the first prisms 31-33 and a 2nd prism and leading the light beam LA1 from the light source LD to the monitoring photodetector PDM provided on the substrate 40 together with two photodetectors PD1, PD2.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To miniaturize the optical head device, to facilitate production and to improve reliability. CONSTITUTION:The luminous flux emitted from a semiconductor laser 1 is disposed so as to be made incident on a polarizing light separating semipermeable film 101 at an angle inclined at 22.5 deg. therewith. This polarizing light separating semipermeable film 101 and a polarized light separating film 102 are formed to attain 54 deg. angle and the refractive index of a medium to transmit light is 1.7. The light emitted from the semiconductor laser 1 is reflected by the polarizing light separating semipermeable film 101 and is condensed onto a recording medium by an objective lens 2. The light reflected by the recording medium returns backward the forward path. The light is transmitted to the polarizing light separating semipermeable film 101 and is separated by the polarized light separating film 102 to P polarized light and S polarize light. The light is detected by a first photodetector 4 and a second photodetector 5, by which a servo signal and reproduced signal are obtd.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To excellently and stably record information on an optical card by discriminating a period, when optical beams made incident on an optical card are focus- regulated, from the period when the optical beams made incident on the optical card are modulated according to information and a recording track where the information is recorded is formed on the optical card. CONSTITUTION:In a forward or a backward operation scanning period when the recording track, where the information is recorded, is formed on an optical card 10, the optical beams made incident on the optical card 10 are practically in a suitable focusing condition. That is, the period, when the optical beams made incident on the optical card 10 are focus-regulated, is discriminated from the period, when the optical beams made incident on an optical card 10' are modulated according to the information so as to form the recording track where the information is recorded on the optical card 10' and the forward or backward operation scanning is executed for the optical card 10'. Consequently, a focusing driving signal necessary for the focus-modulation of the optical beams does not trouble the scanning at the time of forming the recording track on the optical card 10' of the optical beams and the modulation according to the optical beam information. Thus, information recording on the optical card 10' is excellently and stably executed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To remove defects such as a large optical system, high production cost, a heavy movable part, and high power consumption by feeding back a focus error signal to a wavelength control means of a variable wavelength light source. CONSTITUTION:Laser light from a semiconductor laser 17 provided with a power source 18 is supplied to a hologram 20 through a beam splitter (BS) 19 and a laser beam focused in accordance with the wavelength of the laser light is made incident on the recording surface 5 of a disc. The reflected light is reflected by the BS19 and made incident on a photodetector 25 in which two photodetectors are concentrically arranged through a conical lens 24. The difference of signals from the BS19 is catched by an operator 26 and inputted to a wavelength control circuit 28 as a focus error signal SF and a high frequency signal is supplied to the semiconductor laser 17, so that the wavelength of the laser light is changed and the laser light is correctly focused on the recording surface 5. Since the movable part is removed, a defect due to the movable part is removed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the back talk noise, by using a reproducing signal obtained from a main optical detector and a compensating signal obtained from a sub- optical detector for forming a compensated reproducing signal. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam from a semiconductor laser light source 11 is made incident to a collimator lens through a polarized optical beam splitter 3 for bringing it into a parallel beam, and the collected beam of the parallel beam is irradiated on an optical recording medium(disc)7. Further, the beam irradiated from the optical recording medium, i.e., the reproducing beam subject to modulation is made incident to an optical detector 9, and the reproducing signal obtained from the optical detector 9 is applied to a head amplifier 11. Further, the monitor optical detector 2 is used as the sub-optical detector and the compensation signal is obtained from the detector. Moreover, the reproducing signal from the head amplifier (an amplifier with less change in the amplification factor due to temperature is desirable) 11 and the compensation signal from the amplifier 14 are applied to a subtractor 15 for subtraction. That is, the correcting signal is subtracted from the reproducing signal at the subtractor 15. Thus, the reproducing signal reduced with the back talk noise is obtained from an output terminal 12.

Therefore, the fluctuation of the optical path in the second diffraction grating 46 is corrected by the wavelength fluctuation of light emitted from the light source 31 and the return beams diffracted by the third diffraction grating 47 are each split to a plurality of beams by a splitting prism 48. Besides, the main beams split by the splitting prism 48 are each received by a light receiving part 35. Therefore, a focusing error FE is acquired and the side beams transmitted through the splitting prism 48 are received so that the tracking error signal can be acquired.
