    Abstract: Pyridine-2,3-dicarboximides of the general formula I in which R denotes hydrogen, alkoxy or optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl and R , R and R are identical or different and represent hydrogen, halogen, cyano, optionally substituted alkyl, benzyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkoxy, phenoxy or phenylthio, a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic radical having one or two hetero atoms selected from the group consisting of oxygen, sulphur and nitrogen, or optionally substituted phenyl, with the proviso that a) R represents fluorine and R and R have the abovementioned general meaning, or b) R represents fluorine, chlorine, C1-C3-alkoxy, C2-C5-alkenyloxy, C2-C5-alkynyloxy, trifluoromethyl or cyano and R and R have the abovementioned general meanings, or c) R represents halogen or C1-C3-alkoxy, C2-C5-alkenyloxy, C2-C5-alkynyloxy and R and R have the abovementioned general meanings, with the exception of 5-chloropyridine-2,3-dicarboximide, and their environmentally compatible salts.C

    Abstract: Pyridine-2,3-dicarboximides of formula (I) and their salts are new, except for 6-amino-5-cyano-4-phenyl-pyridine-2,3-dicarboximide.
