A plunger adapter and a detachable compression pad for piston driven chest compression devices optimizes the application of chest compressions to a fixed location on a patient's chest. The detachable compression pad may be removably secured to the patient above the patient ' s sternum to ensure that the compression pressure from the piston through the piston adapter is applied to a fixed location on the patient's chest. As the plunger and plunger adapter retract from the chest, the compression pad remains fixed to the patient's chest, and as the plunger and plunger adapter extend from the chest compression unit for subsequent compression strokes, the distal end of the plunger adapter reengages the compression pad to apply compression to a fixed location on the patient's chest.

In at least one aspect, there is provided a system for generating force about one or more joints including a soft exosuit having a plurality of anchor elements and at least one connection element disposed between the plurality of anchor elements. The system also includes at least one sensor to determine a force the at least one connection element or at least one of the plurality of anchor elements and to output signals relating to the force, at least one actuator configured to change a tension in the soft exosuit and at least one controller configured to receive the signals output from the at least one sensor and actuate the at least one actuator responsive to the received signals.

A smart mattress includes a mattress base, a bed assembly, a massage module and a wireless control system. The mattress base includes a mattress frame (4). The bed assembly is mounted on the mattress frame (4). The bed assembly comprises a multi-section bed board (5), a stuff layer (6) and a latex layer (9) from bottom to top. The bed assembly and the mattress base are wrapped with a knitted fabric (1). The massage module is embedded in the bottom of the stuffer layer (6) and connected with corresponding function interfaces of the wireless control system. The massage module includes a shoulder and neck rolling massage unit (7), a waist rolling massage unit (7) and a leg vibration massage unit (8). The smart mattress of the present invention can adjust the angle of the head and leg as desired and has a massage function. The functions of the smart mattress of the present invention are controlled in a wireless way, and they can be used separately or together. The operation is simple and the price is low. The smart mattress can be applied to various beds.
