Abstract:
The invention is directed to controlling a hydraulic actuation system having at least one degree of freedom, a prime mover, at least one actuation module and a controller, with each actuation module including: an over-center variable displacement pump having a power input connection configured to power the pump from the prime mover and a displacement varying input for varying the displacement of the pump; a displacement varying actuator configured to modulate the displacement varying input of the pump; an output actuator in direct communication with the pump, the output actuator configured to drive a corresponding degree of freedom; and at least one sensor establishing a feedback measurement that represents a force or motion of the output actuator. Based on a value of each feedback measurement, the force or motion of the output actuator is regulated by controlling the prime mover and the displacement actuator for the output actuator.
Abstract:
A lower extremity exoskeleton, configurable to be coupled to a person, includes two leg supports configurable to be coupled to the person's lower limbs, an exoskeleton trunk configurable to be coupled to the person's upper body, which is rotatably connectable to the thigh links of the leg supports allowing for the flexion and extension between the leg supports and the exoskeleton trunk, two hip actuators configured to create torques between the exoskeleton trunk and the leg supports, and at least one power unit capable of providing power to the hip actuators wherein the power unit is configured to cause the hip actuator of the leg support in the swing phase to create a torque profile such that force from the exoskeleton leg support onto the person's lower limb during at least a portion of the swing phase is in the direction of the person's lower limb swing velocity.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for adult oriented massage is presented. The apparatus includes a housing unit. An upper stimulation source is disposed within the housing unit. The upper stimulation source is operable for transferring a first percussive stimulation to a woman's lower abdomen proximate a top of a pubic bone. A lower stimulation source is disposed below the upper stimulation and is operable for transferring a second percussive stimulation to a region proximate a bottom of the pubic bone. A drive unit is disposed below the lower stimulation source for driving the upper and lower stimulation sources. A support unit supports the housing unit. At least one flexible unit enables an angle between the housing unit and the support unit to be adjusted, where the first percussive stimulation and the second percussive stimulation combine to enable the woman to achieve a beneficial stimulation.
Abstract:
A swinging drive device (12) installed on a base (11) comprises a crank member (22a), a rod member (22b) and a link member (23) for converting both of the alternating forward and reverse rotations and the unidirectional rotation of a motor (20) into the swinging motion of a body support member (13). A controller (24) rotates the motor (20) in one direction when the body support member (13) is swung with the maximum amplitude.
Abstract:
A massage apparatus includes: a massage unit configured to massage a user; a biological information acquisition unit configured to acquire biological information of the user; a stress estimation unit configured to estimate a degree of stress of the user based on the biological information acquired by the biological information acquisition unit; and an operation determination unit configured to determine a massage operation to be performed for the user by the massage unit based on the degree of stress of the user estimated by the stress estimation unit.
Abstract:
The invention provides a chair-type massage machine adapted to accurately measure heartbeats or like living body data of the person to be treated. The massage machine has a seat 12, a backrest 14 and a leg unit 16, the seat and/or the backrest having massaging means 20, 22 for massaging an affected part of the person, the leg unit having leg massage means 24 for giving a massage to the legs of the person. The massaging means and the leg massage means are controllable by control means 50. The massage machine comprises living body data detecting means 30, 30 electrically connected to the control means for detecting living body data of the person. The control means is adapted to operate the leg massage means alone without operating the massaging means when the living body data of the person is measured by the living body data detecting means.
Abstract:
A chair includes: a seat body (7) an upper surface of which is a seat surface for a user to be seated thereon; a frame (8) supporting the seat body (7) in a manner to permit the seat body (7) to move between a center position and swing positions to which the seat body (7) is swung from the center position; and a driving portion for forcibly moving the seat body (7). The height of the seat surface determined when the seat body (7) is at the center position is lower than the height of the seat surface determined when the seat body is at the swing position.
Abstract:
The present invention is aimed at providing a chair-like massaging apparatus and a forearm massager for use with the chair-like massaging apparatus, which are capable of massaging a forearm of a user as desired and allow the user to take a free posture because of absence of an arm obstructing part in an upper portion of an armrest when the forearm is not to be massaged. To this end, the massaging apparatus of the present invention is configured such that an arm rest (5) configured to support a forearm of the user is provided with a detachable member (38) that is movable along a guide rail (37) and the detachable member (38) is provided with a fitting groove (39). A forearm massager (7) configured to be capable of giving pressure stimulation to the forearm with the forearm of the user sandwiched between the fix and support portion (46) and the pressing portion (47) is provided with a fitting protrusion (40) fitted in the fitting groove (39). By removably fitting the fitting protrusion (40) into the fitting groove (39), the forearm massager (7) is removably attached to the armrest (5).
