PURPOSE: A method for screening anticancer agents using methylation level of pontin is provided to screen anticancer agents and to develop novel anticancer drugs through the effect on cancer cell proliferation and growth by controlling the bond of a methyl group to the pontin protein. CONSTITUTION: A method for screening anticancer agents comprises the steps of culturing cells; contacting the cells with potential materials; confirming reduction of methylation of intracellular pontin compared with a control group (uncontacted group); and selecting a potential material which reduces methylation of pontin as an anticancer agent. The cell is an animal cell.

PURPOSE: A method for screening an anti-spoptotic material or an apoptosis-inducing material is provided to simply and efficiently screen cancer therapeutic materials or carcinogenic materials. CONSTITUTION: A method for screening an anti-apoptotic materials comprises: a step of contacting a test material with cells containing Bcl3 and CtBP1 gene or protein; a step of detecting Bcl3-CtBP1 binding in the cells; a step of checking upregulation of Bcl3 and CtBP1 stabilization; and a step of selecting the test material which induces upregulation and stabilization. The cell is breast cancer cells. The Bcl3-CtBP1 binding is mediated by PXDLS/R sequence.

PURPOSE: A method for identifying a material which negatively controls hypoxic target gene and a composition for treating cancer using the identified test material are provided. CONSTITUTION: A composition for treating cancer contains a material which negatively controls hypoxic target gene. The material is a methyltansferase which methylates intracellular leptin. The methyltransferase is G9a. A method for identifying the material comprises: a step of treating a test material to cells under the hypoxic environment; a step of detecting methylation of intracellular leptin; and a step of determining the material which negatively controls hypoxic target gene which methylates reptin.

PURPOSE: A method for screening cell apoptosis inducing materials using ROR alpha is provided to effectively screen leading compounds of novel drugs, which induce apoptosis, to improve hit ratio in preclinical and clinical tests, and to reduce cost and time for developing a novel drug. CONSTITUTION: A method for screening cell apoptosis inducing materials comprises the steps of: contacting test materials with cells containing ROR alpha gene or protein; and identifying the increase of ROR alpha protein in the cells. The method additionally comprises the step of measuring the activation of p53 transcript in the cells.

PURPOSE: An anticancer peptide originated from RORalaph derivatives is provided to prevent and treat prostate cancer and colon cancer. CONSTITUTION: An anticancer peptide or functional equivalent thereof contains 31-40 amino acid sequences of sequence number 1 and has a phosphorylated 35th serine. The functional equivalent is sequence number 2 or 3. A recombinant vector contains DNA encoding the anticancer peptide. A method for preparing the anticancer peptide comprises a step of culturing cells transformed by the recombinant vector and isolating the anticancer peptides from the cultured cells.
