Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for screening anticancer agents using methylation level of pontin is provided to screen anticancer agents and to develop novel anticancer drugs through the effect on cancer cell proliferation and growth by controlling the bond of a methyl group to the pontin protein. CONSTITUTION: A method for screening anticancer agents comprises the steps of culturing cells; contacting the cells with potential materials; confirming reduction of methylation of intracellular pontin compared with a control group (uncontacted group); and selecting a potential material which reduces methylation of pontin as an anticancer agent. The cell is an animal cell.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pillow apparatus for inducing cervical vertebral extension exercise and a long-term rehabilitation treatment for patients with ruptured cervical disk through changes in the height of a head support by adjusting the length of a shape memory alloy wire, comprising: a power unit for fixing the shape memory alloy wire and simultaneously providing power to a horizontal rack through changes in length; a rotation unit including the horizontal rack converting tension generated by the length change of the wire into a rectilinear motion, a first gear converting the movement of the horizontal rack into a rotary motion, a shaft transmitting the rotary motion of the first gear to a second gear and a third gear, the second gear, and the third gear; and a driving unit including of a first vertical rack converting the rotary motion of the second gear into a rectilinear motion, a second vertical rack converting the rotary motion of the third gear into a rectilinear motion, and a head plate fixing onto the first vertical rack and the second vertical rack. The pillow apparatus of the present invention can induce cervical vertebral extension exercise which a user wants through a method for controlling current flow, thereby continuously and regularly giving physical stimuli, helpful to the rehabilitation treatment. Additionally, the apparatus does not generate noise and vibration, generated in a driving method using the existing motors, thereby enabling a user to receive physical therapy more comfortably.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pillow having a function of preventing and treating cervical disc herniation with physical stimuli to a cervical spine region and, more specifically, to a physical therapy device capable of providing movement helping a rehabilitation treatment by changing the position of the head and neck of a user with shape modification. The present invention can imitate the movement of cervical extension necessary for the physical treatment of cervical disc herniation with the user lying by inducing automatic, periodic and consistent shape modification without an additional operation of the user. The present invention comprises a cushion in the shape of a wedge for supporting the back and waist of the user; a head support portion for supporting the weight of the head and neck and connected to the cushion in the shape of a wedge; a driving portion for changing the height of the head support in the head support portion; a shape memory alloy wire being an actuator in the driving portion and being operated without noise and vibration; and a variation amplifying device. The present invention can maximize the convenience of the user without noise and vibration being generated when using a general driving device such as an electrical motor by using the modification of the shape memory alloy according to temperatures as a driving principle.
