Abstract: A method for isolating narirutin(naringenin-7-O-rutinoside) from unripened tangerine is provided to obtain the narirutin with higher yield from the unripened tangerine than that of ripened tangerine. The method comprises the steps of: (a) preparing dried powder of tangerine such as C. natsudaidai Hayata; (b) extracting the tangerine-dried powder with a polar solvent such as water, distilled water, C1-5 lower alcohol, ethyl acetate, acetone, chloroform, methylene chloride and mixtures thereof; and (c) removing impurities from the obtained extract.
