The extracts of the Ishigeaceae plant showing the antidiabetic activity is provided. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the extracts of the Ishigeaceae plant is provided to improve anti-diabetic and anti-oxidative activities. The Ishigeaceae plant extract for prevention and improvement of diabetes is obtained from the Ishigeaceae plant, and is prepared by washing Ishige sinicola; dipping the washed Ishige sinicola in 70% ethanol and agitating it at room temperature for 2-3 days; filtering the leached product of Ishige sinicola to prepare the crude extract; and sequentially fractioning the crude extract with n-hexane, ethylacetate, and butanol to obtain fractions.

A composition comprising the extract of Malus micromalus Makino is provided to whiten the skin by inhibiting melanin biosynthesis and activity of tyrosinase, suppress oxidation and inflammation, and improve economical efficiency and safety of use by using natural plant. A composition for whitening the skin comprises the extract of Malus micromalus Makino which is prepared by washing leaf, branch, flower or fruit of Malus micromalus Makino with water, drying it with hot wind of 40 deg. C for 3 days, pulverizing the dried Malus micromalus Makino, dipping the pulverized Malus micromalus Makino in 70% ethanol and stirring it at room temperature for 2-3 days, filtering the stirred solution to obtain the crude extract of Malus micromalus Makino, and fractionating the crude extract with other solvent with different polarity.

PURPOSE: A Lindera erythrocarpa-derived compound is provided to obtain a composition for skin whitening showing melanin inhibitory activity higher than existing albutin known as a whitening agent. CONSTITUTION: A method for separating a Lindera erythrocarpa-derived compound comprises the steps of: extracting Lindera erythrocarpa in a solvent to obtain Lindera erythrocarpa extracts; partitioning the Lindera erythrocarpa extracts into hexane, methylene chloride, ethyl acetate, and butanol to obtain solvent fractions; partitioning the Lindera erythrocarpa extracts by performing a primary silicagel column chromatography using hexane and ethyl acetate as a solvent; and applying a secondary silica gel column chromatography to the extracts using a mixed solvent of hexane and ethyl acetate.

PURPOSE: A method for preparing Hedera rhombea extract which suppresses melanogenesis and tyrosinase activity is provided to treat melasma, dots, freckles, or hyperpigmentation during pregnancy. CONSTITUTION: A whitening cosmetic composition contains 25-100ug/ml of Hedera rhombea as an active ingredient. A method for preparing ethyl acetate from Hedera rhombea comprises: a step of washing and drying Hedera rhombea by hot air; a step of pulverizing Hedera rhombea; a step of precipitating pulverized Hedera rhombea in an organic solvent, leaching, and filtering; a step of repeating leaching and filtering two or three times; a step of decompressing and freeze-drying to obtain a powder; and a step of partitioning the Hedera rhombea extract with ethyl acetate. The organic solvent is 70% ethanol.

An extract of Pimpinella komarovii is provided to secure excellent whitening effect and excellent antioxidative and anti-inflammatory activities. And a composition comprising the same as an effective ingredient is provided. An extract of Pimpinella komarovii with whitening activity is characterized in that it is prepared by hot-wind drying washed Pimpinella komarovii at a temperature of 40 deg.C, crushing the dried Pimpinella komarovii, dipping the crushed material of the Pimpinella komarovii in 70% ethanol with agitating for 2-3 days at room temperature, filtering the leachate using a filter to prepare a crude extract, and fractioning the crude extract using n-hexane, ethylacetate, and butanol in sequence. A composition for whitening, improving and preventing inflammatory diseases or antioxidizing comprises the extract of Pimpinella komarovii as an effective ingredient.

A whitening composition containing the extract of Dictyota is provided to improve the inhibitory activity of tyrosinase in the cell and inhibitory activity of melanin formation, so that the composition is usable for the functional cosmetics. The whitening composition contains the extract of Dictyota which is prepared by washing the brown algae of Dictyota with the flowing water; drying the brown algae of Dictyota at 40 deg. C for 3 days and pulverizing it; extracting the pulverized product with 70% ethanol at room temperature for 2-3 days; filtering the extract; repeating the extracting and filtering process 2-3 times; concentrating the filtered solution under reduced pressure, and freeze-drying the concentrate to prepare the crude extract; and fractionating the crude extract with solvent having different polarity sequentially.
