Abstract: PURPOSE: A transfer apparatus integrally assembled with a transmission in a four-wheel drive vehicle is provided to prevent interference with an engine by driving front and rear wheels together with placing the transfer apparatus in the lower part of the transmission, and to reduce parts by integrating a differential. CONSTITUTION: An engine and a transmission(50) are arranged horizontally, and rotational force is transmitted through a clutch(52). A differential(55) is placed in the lower part of the transmission to transmit driving force to an axle of front wheels. A transfer apparatus(70) is arranged to transmit driving force from the axle opposed to the engine to rear wheels, and composed of a transfer gear(71a) connected to a gear(56a) of the axle through a chain(75) and a transfer shaft(71). The differential is connected to the axle and a universal joint(57). The freedom of design is improved with preventing interference between the transfer apparatus and the engine. Interference is minimized with driving front and rear wheels by placing the transfer apparatus in the lower part of the transmission, and parts are reduced with integrating with a transmission case.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A transmission of four-wheeled vehicle reduces the number of parts and lightens the weight thereof by changing a transmission as a clutch-typed transmission for an outside and an inside contact. CONSTITUTION: A transmission comprises an idle gear(52), a transfer gear(62), a clutch member and a clutch operation member. The idle gear(52) is set on either of a front shaft(60) and a rear shaft(50) to operate with no-load. The transfer gear(62) is connected to the idle gear(52) with transmitting member by setting to connect directly to the other of the front shaft(60) and the rear shaft(50). The clutch member is set on the idle gear(52) and a driving shaft having the idle gear(52) mounted thereon, and makes the idler gear(52) contact or separate to the driving shaft by contacting or separating the inside and the outside thereof each other with being sided toward an axial. The clutch operation member moves the clutch member, axially, according to the rotational speed difference between the front shaft(60) and the rear shaft(50).
