Abstract: A catalyst for purifying exhaust gas and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to realize a catalyst for purifying exhaust gas having an excellent characteristic while reducing a use amount of a noble metal coated on a carrier. A front high concentration coated area(12) is formed by coating a front part which firstly contacts a flow of exhaust gas, with a noble metal at high concentration. A rear complex coated area(14) has at least two coated areas(16,18) different in a coating concentration of the noble metal at a rear of the front high concentration coated area. The front high concentration coated area is formed at about 20% based on an entire length, and the coating concentration of the noble metal is about 5.0g/L.

Abstract: A preparation method of a catalytic carrier is provided to effectively improve a cell clogging phenomenon conventionally generated due to alien substances during purification of exhaust gas by forming the cells such that sectional areas of the cells at the inlet side of respective cells are increased, and thicknesses of cell walls are reduced. In a preparation method of a catalytic carrier(10) for purification of automobile exhaust gas, comprising a molding step of molding a carrier shape in which cells(11) and cell walls(12) are formed by passing a carrier raw material(1) through a mold(23), thereby extruding the carrier raw material by an extruder(20), a preparation method of a catalytic carrier for suppressing a cell clogging phenomenon generated due to alien substances is characterized in that the molding step comprises: mounting a dissimilar cell forming die(26) from which pin parts(26b) inserted into the respective cells of the molded carrier are projected on a rear end of a guide for guiding the molded carrier passing through the mold, thereby molding the carrier in such a shape that sectional areas of the cells are increased, and thicknesses of cell walls are reduced in a predetermined section of an inlet side of the molded carrier compared with a residual section of the carrier while the pin parts of the dissimilar cell forming die are inserted into the respective cells of the carrier.

Abstract: A coating apparatus and a coating method for preparing a heterogeneous catalyst are provided to lower preparation cost by optimally distributing the amount of precious metal according to flow distribution of exhaust gas, thereby reducing consumption of precious metal accordingly. The coating method for preparing a heterogeneous catalyst comprises the steps of: (a) filling catalytic solutions with different precious metal concentrations in a solution bath(11) of which an inner space is divided into a plurality of compartments by partitions(12); (b) absorbing the catalytic solutions into the respective spuits by inserting the respective spuits into the respective compartments of the solution bath using a solution inspirator(13) having a plurality of spuits(14) installed on a lower portion thereof; (c) injecting the catalytic solutions onto an upper end surface of the carrier from the respective spuits by releasing negative pressure after moving the solution inspirator to an upper side of a carrier(10); (d) applying a negative pressure to the opposite side of the carrier using an inhaler(16) positioned at a lower side of the carrier to coat an upper portion of the carrier by sucking the catalytic solutions injected onto the upper end surface of the carrier; and (e) repeating the steps(b) to (d) after turning the carrier upside down.

Abstract: 본 발명은 자동차 배기가스 정화시스템에 관한 것으로서, 특히 엔진 배기 매니폴드에 가깝게 설치되는 CCC와, 차체 플로어 하측에 설치되는 UCC를 설치하되, CCC 내에는 귀금속 담지량이 낮은 HC 흡착촉매와 NOx 흡착촉매를 설치하는 한편 바이패스 유로와 유로절환수단을 포함하는 가변유로 시스템을 구성하여, 초기시동시에는 CCC 내 상기 흡착촉매로 배기가스가 흐르게 하여 이들 흡착촉매가 배기가스를 정화하도록 하고, 이후 후방 UCC 촉매의 워엄-업 상태에서는 CCC 내 흡착촉매로의 유로는 차단하고 UCC 촉매로만 배기가스가 흐르게 하여 이 UCC 촉매가 정상적으로 배기가스를 정화하도록 한 자동차 배기가스 정화시스템에 관한 것이다. 이러한 본 발명에 의하면, 초기시동시에는 CCC에서, 이후에는 워엄-업 상태의 UCC에서 정화가 이루어지므로 정화성능의 향상은 물론, 귀금속을 거의 사용하지 않은 HC 흡착촉매 및 NOx 흡착촉매를 CCC 내에 사용하여 기존 CCC 촉매를 대체함으로써 제조원가의 절감이 가능하다. 또한, 가변유로를 이용하여 CCC 촉매를 시동초기 단시간 동안에만 사용하므로 CCC 촉매의 내열 및 내구성 문제가 발생하지 않게 된다.

이러한 본 발명의 금속 담체는, 스트립 형태의 금속 포일이 지그재그 형태가 되게 반복적으로 접혀진 상태에서 전체적으로는 탄성복원력을 가지는 코일 스프링 형태로 감겨진 형상으로 되어 있고, 감겨진 원의 직경이 배기 매니폴드 파이프의 내경 크기로부터 한번 감겨질 때마다 뱀의 또아리 모양으로 점차 작아졌다가 다시 감겨질 때마다 원의 직경이 점차 커지는 형태를 반복하는 구조로 되어, 표면에 촉매 코팅 후 배기 매니폴드 내에 삽입 장착되는 것을 특징으로 한다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An exhaust gas control system for a vehicle is provided to restrain the generation of sulfates in exhaust gas by selectively using two exhaust lines including catalysts for high temperature and low temperature. CONSTITUTION: In an exhaust system of a vehicle, a part of an exhaust line(30) between an engine(10) and a muffler(20) is branched into two branch lines(40) and then joined into one. In the branch lines, a catalyst(50a) for high temperature and another catalyst(50b) for low temperature are installed to obtain excellent cleaning effect at various temperatures. A motor(70) for driving a damper(60) is prepared. Exhaust gas is discharged through the catalysts after passing through the exhaust line.
