CONSTITUTION: An occupant classification system for a vehicle comprises a detector(50) and a controller(70). The detector detects the current variation generated by an occupant. The controller decides the seated state and type of the occupant using the current value and transmits the decision result to an ACU(Airbag Control Unit). The detector comprises a sensing part(10), an ammeter(20), and a switching circuit(40). An insulator of the sensing part is located between a sensing conductor(11) and a guard conductor(12). The ammeter measures the current amount from the sensing part. The switching circuit to which AC(Alternating Current) power source(30) is provided forms one or more closed loops by connecting the sensing part and the ammeter.

A winding shaft support hole(22a) is formed in a vertical part of the support bracket and allows an end of the winding shaft to be inserted thereto. Flanges(21a) having a disk shape and capsule insertion holes(21b) are formed at both sides of the winding shaft.
