Cyanine compounds represented by the general formula (I) which exhibit decomposition behavior suitable for the optical recording material to be used in optical recording layers of optical recording media for high-speed recording: (I) wherein A and B are each an optionally substituted benzene or naphthalene ring; X is O, S, Se, CR3R4, or NY; at least either of R1 and R2 is a group represented by the general formula (II) or (III) and when only either is a group represented thereby, the other is an organic group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms; R3 and R4 are each an organic group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms; Y is hydrogen or an organic group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms; at least either of Y1 and Y2 is a group represented by the general formula (IV) and when only either is a group represented thereby, the other is hydrogen or an organic group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms; Z is hydrogen, halogeno, or cyano; Anm- is an m-valent anion; m is an integer of 1 or 2; and p is a coefficient capable of keeping the electric charge neutral.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a dye that is excellent in solubility and heat-resistance, and a novel compound that is suitable for the dye, and specifically provides a yellow dye having a maximum absorption wavelength in the region of 420 to 470 nm. Furthermore, the present invention provides a colored (alkali-developable) photosensitive composition and an optical filter using the dye, and specifically provides a color filter that does not decrease luminance and thus is preferable for an image display device such as a liquid crystal display panel. Specifically, the present invention provides a novel compound represented by the following general formula (1), a dye using the compound, and a colored (alkali-developable) photosensitive composition and a color filter. The content of the above-mentioned general formula (1) is as described in the description.

The present invention provides a light-diffusing resin composition capable of realizing high color rendering properties and brightness when used in light-diffusing sheets, and a light-diffusing sheet and a light source unit using same. Provided are the light-diffusing resin composition including a binder resin (A) preferably in 1 to 80 mass%, a light-diffusing agent (B) preferably in 15 to 95 mass%, and a trimethine cyanine compound (C) represented by formula (I) preferably in 0.0001 to 5 mass%; and the light-diffusing sheet using the light-diffusing resin composition in a light-diffusing layer. The light source unit has the light-diffusing sheet and a light source, preferably a white LED.
