    Abstract: Disclosed is a novel metal powder injection molding material containing a) 4 0 to 70 percent by volume of powdered metal, including at least 50 percent by weight relative to the entire quantity of metal of an iron-containing powder , at least 90 percent by weight relative to the quantity of the iron-containin g powderof the particles of said iron-containing powder having an effective diameter of at least 40 micrometers, b) 30 to 60 percent by volume of a thermoplastic binder, and c) 0 to 5 percent by volume of a dispersing adjuva nt and/or other optional adjuvants. Said injection molding material is deformed by injection molding, the binder is removed from the injection-molded pieces , and the injection-molded pieces from which the binder has been removed are sintered.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for producing a catalyst containing vanadium, phosphorus, and oxygen, which is used for oxidizing the gas phase of a hydrocarbon having at least four carbon atoms to maleic anhydride. According to the inventive method, a corresponding catalyst precursor which contains vanadium, phosphorus, and oxygen and is provided with particles having an average diameter of at least 2 mm is converted into a catalytically active form by means of calcination, and a flow of the catalyst precursor is transported on a conveyor belt across at least one calcination area over a distance 1 n at an essentially steady speed in order to be calcinated. The variation over time of the gas temperature in relation to the set point value amounts to n /2 of the calcination area, while the local difference in the gas temperature between any positions in the area of the flow of the catalyst precursor, which is located within the second half 1 n /2 of the calcination area, amounts to

    Abstract: Production of a catalyst for gas phase oxidation of organic compounds to alpha ,beta -unsaturated aldehydes and/or carboxylic acids, comprises an active phase of multimetal oxide composition being produced from a particulate precursor containing oxides and/or precursors and activated by calcination. A stream of precursor is fed at constant rate through calcination zone(s), in which the maximum temperature varies with time and locally are at most 5[deg]C. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a catalyst charge containing a specified active phase; (b) the production of alpha ,beta - unsaturated aldehydes and/or carboxylic acids over this catalyst charge; and (c) a belt calciner with heatable chamber(s) and gas-permeable conveyor belt for particulate material, running through the chamber(s), in which the chamber is provided with means of gas circulation by forced convection.
