Abstract: According to the invention, the production of oxymethylene homo- or co-polymers from an aqueous solution of formaldehyde and polyoxymethylene glycols is achieved, whereby 1) in a separation stage, water and formaldehyde are at least partly separated out from the aqueous solution, such that a phase containing polyoxymethylene glycols is obtained, in which the molar ratio of polyoxymethylene glycols to formaldehyde is greater than 1:0.6 and 2) the polyoxymethylene glycols obtained in stage 1) are reacted in the presence of polycondensation catalysts with abstraction of water to give oxymethylene homo- or co-polymers.

Abstract: A process for preparation of thermoplastic polymers containing isotactic or partially isotactic poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate) by reaction of optically enriched (sic) in the 1-position monosubstituted oxirane compounds with carbon monoxide in the presence of cobalt or cobalt compounds and an OH-substituted N-aromatic at a pressure of 1-250 bar and temperature from room to 150 deg C is new. A process for preparation of thermoplastic polymers containing isotactic or partially isotactic poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate) of mol. wt. higher than 5000 g/mole and m.pt. 70-170 deg C by reaction of optically enriched (sic) in the 1-position monosubstituted oxirane compounds with carbon monoxide in the presence of cobalt or cobalt compounds and an OH-substituted N-aromatic at a pressure of 1-250 bar and temperature from room to 150 deg C is new.
