Abstract: Rinse agent formulations for machine dishwashing, comprising as components: a) 1% to 20% by weight of copolymers of a1) 20% to 80% by weight of at least one monomer from the group consisting of monoethylenically unsaturated C 3 -C 10 monocarboxylic or dicarboxylic acids or their anhydrides, a2) 10% to 80% by weight of at least one monomer of the general formula (I) in which R 1 , R 2 and R 3 independently of one another are H, CH 3 or C 2 H 5 , R 4 is a linear, branched or cyclic radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or an aromatic radical having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, and a3) 0% to 80% by weight of at least one further monomer, selected from the group consisting of olefins having 10 or more carbon atoms or mixtures thereof and reactive polyisobutenes having on average 12 to 100 carbon atoms, b) 1% to 30% by weight of low-foaming nonionic surfactants, c) 0% to 50% by weight of nonaqueous solvents, d) 0% to 15% by weight of solubilizers, e) 0% to 15% by weight of acidifiers, f) 0% to 10% by weight of one or more further additives such as anionic, cationic, zwitterionic and amphoteric surfactants, dyes, fragrances and corrosion inhibitors; g) water to 100% by weight.

An Independent claim is also included for a washing and cleaning material containing the copolymer as a coating inhibiting additive.

Abstract: The invention relates to cleaner formulations and to the use of said cleaner formulations for preventing plastic articles from discoloring when cleaned i n a dishwasher. The cleaner formulations comprise the following components: a) copolymers containing a1) 10 to 60 % by weight of at least one monomer component (A) from the group of the monoethylenically unsaturated C3-C10 mon o- or dicarboxylic acids or the anhydrides thereof; a2) 40 to 90 % by weight of at least one monomer component (B) of the general formula (I), wherein R1, R 2 and R3 independently represent H, CH3, C2H5, C3H7, COOH or OH, Y represents - C(=O)-, -C(=O)-O-, -O-, -O-C(=O)-, -O-C(=O)-O- or -C(=O)-NH-, n equals 0 or 1, R4 is a linear or branched, cyclic or acyclic aliphatic group with 7 to 100 carbon atoms; and a3) 0 to 30 % by weight of at least one further monomer component (C) that can be copolymerized with the monomer components (A) and (B) and that is selected from the group consisting of C1-C6 (meth)acrylic esters, C1-C6 vinylethers, C2-C8 olefins, styrenes, acrylnitriles, acrylamides, vinylformamides, allylalcohols, vinylphosphonates, vinyl- substituted heterocycles and unsaturated organosulfonic acids; b) a bleachin g system that comprises at least one component of the group consisting of bleaching agents, bleaching activators and bleaching catalysts.
