Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent an unnecessary document from being transmitted to a reception side terminal by receiving the summary information of document information sent from a transmission side terminal and answering whether the document information are necessary or not. CONSTITUTION:When document information housed in a document memory 4 of a transmission side terminal 1 are transmitted to reception side terminals 8-10, at first, the message summary of the above-mentioned document information housed in advance in a message buffer 3 is transmitted to the above- mentioned reception side terminals 8-10. The reception side terminals 8-10 to receive this message summary decide whether the above-mentioned document information are necessary or not from this message summary and when they are needed, to the above-mentioned transmission side terminal 1, a receiving request is transmitted. The transmission side terminal 1 to receive this receiving request reads the document information housed in the document memory 4 and transmits them to the reception terminal to transmit the above-mentioned receiving request.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form the titled facsimile equipment having a recording system whose print speed is sufficiently fast with sufficiently high resolution by providing a laser printer to the recording system. CONSTITUTION:The titled equipment has a picture read section 100 as a picture read system, the laser printer 200 as the recording system and a controller C controlling the picture read section 100 and the laser printer 200. The basic recording resolution of the laser printer 200 is selected as 16pels/mmX15.4line/ mm. Thus, when a signal is received from a conventional facsimile equipment, a picture element density converting circuit 60 gives an output while dots are overlapped. That is, the received data is sent duplicatedly to a decoder 45 by a prescribed number of times at each dot and the data processed in this way is sent to the decoder 45 overlappedly at each line for prescribed number of times. Thus, even when the laser printer 200 is used, the picture size on print paper is not reduced at the reception.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To communicate with a desired subscriber at the remote side by retrieving the communication control information supplied in a communication mode within a registration memory means. CONSTITUTION:The telephone number of a desired subscriber at the remote side is supplied and displayed to a display device of an operation part 1. When a confirming process is designated for the telephone number, a telephone number table stored in a memory 3 is retrieved. Then the data in the memory 3 are successively transmitted to a comparator 4 by a control part 5 and compared with the data stored in a buffer memory 2. Thus it is checked whether the input telephone number is stored or not. When the telephone number is stored in the memory, the name of the remote side subscriber is displayed and transmitted. While an error display is given in case the telephone number is not stored in the memory 3.

SOLUTION: Upon the receipt of an IFP connection request of the ITU-T recommendations T. 38 from an emitting gateway (S11), a receiving gateway calls a receiver side facsimile machine (S12), when the receiving gateway can be connected to the receiver side facsimile machine (S13), the receiving gateway makes relaying (S14), when the connection is failed, the receiving gateway makes substitute reception (S15). Whether or not the substitute reception is made is decided according to a prescribed condition set by a user. When the substitute reception is made, a display device or the like of an operation section displays the result, A recording section records and outputs the image received by substitute reception. A final reception station or other facsimile machine is called and processing such as transfer is conducted, and the modes can be set by the user.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To surely avoid a communication impossible state due to the noncoincidence of a modem mode by informing the reception side of a fact that a transmission mode is to be switched and uniquely switching the mode on the reception side. CONSTITUTION: On the transmission side, after normally receiving a CFR first, an SMH signal is sent out and picture signals are sent out after the interval of a margin period for switching the mode. In the meantime, on the reception side, after sending out the CFR, standby is performed at a low-speed reception mode, and when the SMH is received, a mode is switched to a high-speed reception mode in 75msec for instance and the reception of the respective signals of TRN, PIX and RTC arriving next is executed. Thus, for the program of reception mode judgment, only the decoding of the SMH is sufficient and the need of the complicated programs of whether or not they are significant signals and whether or not mode changeover is required, etc., is eliminated. Thus, the communication impossible state due to the noncoincidence of the mode is surely evaded.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the convenience of use by storing whether a caller terminal equipment is a speech terminal equipment or a communication terminal equipment, detecting telephone number information between call signal pulses, and activating the terminal equipment depending on the type of the caller terminal equipment and the mode of the received signal. CONSTITUTION:Telephone number information of destinations being a communication terminal equipment and a speech terminal equipment is registered respectively to registration circuits 42, 44. Upon the receipt of an incoming call, a control circuit 48 checks the telephone number information sent between call signal pulses. When the call comes from the speech terminal equipment, a call signal is outputted to a telephone set 0 or an automatic answering telephone set 1 and no signal is given to a facsimile equipment (FAX). When the call signal comes from a communication terminal equipment, the reception by the facsimile equipment is immediately transited. Furthermore, when the signal is registered to two types of terminal equipments as the communication terminal equipment and the speech terminal equipment, the automatic changeover of FAX/TEL is conducted or the automatic answering telephone set is activated and when the facsimile equipment detects a CNG signal or a silence state, the FAX reception procedure is transited.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide color facsimile equipment acquiring a received color image with image quality close to a transmission original in which image quality (color tone and luminance) of input and output images between lots of unspecified different scanners and printers are always corrected properly. CONSTITUTION:Each terminal equipment has the same original standard image original. The transmission of a standard image from a sender side is designated by a protocol. A receiver side compares the image quality of a received output standard image with that of the original standard image and a conversion table 14 is manually adjusted by an operation panel 22 by which adjustment command of color difference or luminance is made. The succeedingly received image is corrected to have a color tone and a luminance close to the original (transmission original) based on the conversion table 14. Thus, the image reproduction close to the image quality of the original is warranted independently of a characteristic of each terminal equipment. The values in the conversion table 14 are preferably linked with transmission addresses.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to indicate a time for battery replacement with an IC card itself by providing an indication device on the card. CONSTITUTION:An IC card consists of a memory device and a control part which controls the input/output processing of data in the memory device. The memory device and the control part are driven by a built-in battery. An output voltage of the battery 104 is detected by a voltage detection circuit 105. The voltage detection circuit 105 consists of a comparator which compares a reference voltage with an output voltage of the battery 104 with a zener diode. If the output voltage of the battery 104 becomes lower than a specified reference voltage, a time for replacement of the battery 104 is indicated or warned by lighting or flashing LED 106. In addition, if, for example, a solar cell 105' is provided and the voltage detection circuit 105 and LED 106 are driven using the cell 105', the battery 104 lasts longer than when the cell 105' is not provided and the time for replacement of the battery is indicated or warned.
