Abstract: A low product level detector is disclosed which utilizes a sensor comprised of an infrared emitter and receiver to project a beam of light across a cavity/enclosure which contains a solid product. When the product reaches a level at which more solid product should be added, an alarm indicia means is triggered. The alarm indicia means is comprised of an audible horn and a visually perceptible light. The low product alarm is utilized in a dispenser for dispensing a wash chemical solution which has been created by dissolving a solid wash chemical in a diluent. By maintaining a predetermined amount of solid wash chemical in the dispenser, the wash chemical solution maintains a more constant concentration.

Abstract: A method of sanitizing and destaining ware, including silverware includes the steps of applying a sanitizing concentrate composition to silverware at a rate of 100 ppm to 2000 ppm, the sanitizing concentrate composition including from about 1 wt-% to 20 wt-% of peroxycarboxylic acid, from about 10 wt-% to 50 wt-% of carboxylic acid containing a mixture of acetic acid, and octanoic acid, the acetic acid and the octanoic acid present in a ratio ranging from about 10 to 1 to about 1 to 1, respectively, from about 3 wt-% to 35 wt-% of hydrogen peroxide, and a balance of carrier wherein said peroxycarboxylic acid is the reaction product of the acetic acid, octanoic acid, and hydrogen peroxide.

Abstract: The invention is a method of sanitizing and destaining ware, including silverware. Abstract: Improved cleaners for hard surfaces, cooking utensils, laundry and other substrates that can accumulate fatty soils can be cleaned using an aqueous cleaner made from a cast solid cleaning system. The cast solid system contains a carefully balanced formulation of cleaning ingredients that provide surprising animal or vegetable fat removing properties. The cleaning system can be manufactured in the form of a large bulk cast block. Such blocks are dispensed by spraying a dispensing spray of water onto the surface of the block creating an aqueous concentrate that can be directed to a cleaning site. The solid composition contains a unique blend of a specific amine oxide combined with anionic sulfonates in a solvent containing mass. These unique components cooperate to provide a substantial level of animal or vegetable fat removal in preferred cleaning protocols.

Abstract: Disclosed is a dispenser (10) for dispensing a wash chemical solution which has been created by dissolving a solid wash chemical (65) in a diluent. The dispenser (10) has a sump (48) which is positioned beneath an outlet port (40) for the wash chemical solution, so that the sump (48) collects the dissolved wash chemical. The sump (48) is contained within a reservoir (17), and overflow from the sump (48) is collected within the reservoir (17). A pick-up tube (27) withdraws the wash chemical solution from the reservoir (17). The sump (48) is retained within the reservoir (17) by flexible tabs (72) and a support member (51) against which the sump (48) is positioned. A screen is provided above the sump (48) for filtering unwanted particulates.

Abstract: A dispensing system and method of dispensing utilize a container housing a concentrated product which is filled with a diluent to form a use dilution, then is subsequently installed into a dispenser having means for automatically opening the container to give the dispenser access to the use dilution. The container includes a cap disposed thereon with a pierceable member that permits access to the interior cavity of the container when pierced. The cap is removable to permit the container to be filled with a diluent prior to installation in the dispenser.

Abstract: The invention includes compositions and methods for sanitizing ware without staining or spotting. In its most preferred mode, the method comprises the steps of washing the ware in an automated ware wash ing machine and rinsing the ware at either high or low temperatures with a sanitizing rinse composition. The destaining, sanitizing concentrate composition preferably comprises peroxyacet ic acid, acetic acid, and hydrogen peroxide. The sanitizing rinse composition m ay preferably be used at a concentration ranging from ab out 600 ppm to 4,000 ppm.
