    Abstract: Compositions of the invention include (a) a solvent at least partially immiscible in water; and (b) a solubilizing agent having a formula (A), where R is (C1-C7) alkylenyl, substituted (C1-C7) alkylenyl, (C1-C7) alkylenyloxy, substituted (C1-C7) alkylenyloxy, (C2-C7) alkenylenyl, substituted (C2-C7) alkenylenyl, aryl, heteroaryl, cycloalkyl or; and R' and R" is independently selected from hydrogen, (C1-C7) alkyl, substituted (C1-C7) alkyl, (C1-C7) alkoxy, substituted (C1-C7) alkoxy, (C2-C7) alkenyl, or substituted (C2-C7) alkenyl. Further compositions include (a) a solvent at least partially immiscible in water; and (b) a solubilizing agent having a formula (B), where R is (C1-C7) alkenyl, substituted (C1-C7) alkenyl, (C1-C7) alkenyloxy, substituted (C1-C7) alkenyloxy, (C2-C7) alkenyloxy, substituted (C2-C7) alkenyl, aryl, heteroaryl, cycloalkyl or heterocycyl and R1 is a nitrogen containing heterocycyl or a nitrogen containing hetroaryl. The compositions are useful in providing stable single-phase aqueous solutions when combined with water.

    Abstract: The present invention refers to a laundry pre-treatment composition capable of treating hydrophobic and organic particulate soils in the laundry item, the composition comprising: (a) an effective soil treating amount of a hydrophilic ethoxylate surfactant composition having an HLB of about 10 to 20, the surfactant comprising the formula R1-(OC2H4)o-(OC3H6)n-OH with an HLB of at least 10, wherein m and n are independently a number of about 0 to about 20, n+o > 4 and R1 is an aromatic or aliphatic, hydrophilic group of 6 to 24 carbon atoms; and (b) an effective soil treating amount of a hydrophobic alcohol ethoxylate composition of the formula: R2-(OC2H4)p-OH with an HLB of less than about 9 wherein R2 is a straight or branched chain fatty alkyl group containing from about 6 to 24 carbon atoms and p is a number of less than about 2; wherein the amounts of ethoxylate surfactant composition and the alcohol ethoxylate composition are selected to obtain an overall HLB value of about 7 - 12 in the composition.

    Abstract: An alkaline sensitive metal cleaning composition is provided. The alkaline sensitive metal cleaning composition contains an alkaline concentrate and a corrosion inhibitor concentrate. The alkaline concentrate includes a source of alkalinity in an amount sufficient to provide a use solution having a pH of at least 10.0, and a first chelant component that exhibits soil removal properties when used at a pH of at least 10.0. The corrosion inhibitor concentrate includes a corrosion inhibitor component for reducing corrosion of alkaline sensitive metals when used in a use solution having a pH of at least 10.0, a second chelant component for stabilizing the corrosion inhibitor in the corrosion inhibitor concentrate when the corrosion inhibitor concentrate is provided at a pH that is less than 8.0, and a surfactant component for providing cleaning properties when used at a pH of at least 10.0. A threshold inhibitor/crystal modifier can be provided in at least one of the alkaline concentrate and the corrosion inhibitor concentrate to stabilize the corrosion inhibitor in a use solution at a pH of at least 10.0. A method for cleaning an alkaline sensitive metal surface and a washing facility are provided.
