Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition capable of reasonably giving a stabilized solid product having an equal deterging power to a caustic detergent substantially without corroding a metal by forming a solid matter containing sodium carbonate, an alkali metal silicate salt composition, a sequestering agent, a surfactant packaging and other optional ingredients, and a process for the preparation thereof. SOLUTION: The objective composition comprises (a) about 10-80 wt.% of Na2CO3, (b) an alkali metal silicate salt having an M2O:SiO2 ratio of about 1:1 to 1:5 and (c) an effective amount of a sequestering agent for a hard water component comprising an organic phosphonate salt, and contains sodium carbonate anhydride and a binder containing sodium carbonate hydrate and an organic phosphonate salt and does not substantially contain a second alkali source. The product 10 reveals a solid block 11 when packaging 12 is removed, which is used in a solid state.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition for tableware, which can reasonably give a stabilized solid product having an equal deterging power to a caustic detergent without practically corroding metals by forming a solid containing sodium carbonate, an alkali metal silicate salt composition, a metal ion sequestering agent, a surfactant packaging and other optional ingredients. SOLUTION: The composition contains: (a) about 10-80 wt.% of Na 2 CO 3 ; (b) an alkali metal silicate salt having the ratio about 1:1-1:5 for M 2 O:SiO 2 ; (c) an effective amount of a metal ion sequestering agent for a hard water component (hardnnes) comprising an organic phosphonate salt; a binder containing sodium carbonate anhydride; sodium carbonate hydrate and an organic phosphonate salt and substantially no second alkali source. After removal of a packaging 12, the product 10 reveals a solid block 11, which is used in the form of a solid. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline detergent containing a mixed organic and inorganic sequestrant which successfully softens service water used in manufacturing an aqueous detergent from the composition, and also achieves substantially improved organic soil removal on a dishware or a silver table ware. SOLUTION: Detergents, especially solid block 11 alkaline detergent compositions, are disclosed comprising a source of alkalinity, and other detergent additives including a sequestrant. The detergents of the invention use a mixed condensed phosphate and organic phosphonate sequestrant component. The solid block detergents of the invention comprises large masses of the chemical ingredients having a mass of greater than about 500 grams in a solid block product form that is typically dispensed using a water spray-on dispenser that forms an aqueous concentrate that is used in a washing machine. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a solid detergent composition which has good extrusion molding properties and which has high washing efficiency. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a solid detergent composition comprises: (i) combining: (a) 25 to 80 wt% of sodium carbonate; (b) 1 to 30 wt% of aminotri(methylenephosphonate); and (c) 0.9 to 1.3 mol of water per mol of carbonate to form a blended mass; and (ii) adding non-hydrated sodium carbonate and a binding agent comprising mono-hydrated sodium carbonate and aminotri(methylenephosphonate) for solidification. The solid does not contain a source of alkalinity other than sodium carbonate. The blended mass is formed into a solid by extrusion molding. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
Continuous coatings are prepared using novel two part compositions and methods. The two part compositions of the invention comprise, in separate containers, a powder polymer composition and a coalescing agent. The powder composition has preferred particle size distribution and composition for use in the compositions or methods of the invention. The coalescing agents of the invention cooperate with the powder part to result in a excellent finish having the appropriate drying hardness, durability, etc. The novel method of the invention involves contacting a coalescing agent with polymer particles in a variety of coating methods. The particles and the coalescing agent interact to form a continuous coating layer or finish layer. The basic coating formation methods of the invention can be embodied in a number of methods or protocols including applying a solid polymer to the liquid coalescing agent, applying the agent to the polymer particulate or applying the liquid and polymer simultaneously. In any protocol, a desirable floor finish can be easily formed. This invention is particularly suitable for a floor finish composition.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a biocidal composition, designed for the generation of chlorine dioxide, comprising at least one iodo-compound having at least one iodine atom and a source of chlorite ions. The molar ration of chlorite ions to iodine atoms is 2 or greater. The composition finds use in a variety of applications including methods of cleaning, deodorizing, and disinfecting various surfaces.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions and methods employing a water soluble magnesium compound. In certain embodiments, the composition includes water and water soluble magnesium compound, but lacks other materials commonly used in cleaning compositions. The methods and compositions can provide magnesium ion at predefined ratios to calcium ion in water, such as magnesium ion in a molar amount equal to or in excess over a molar amount of calcium ion. A water soluble magnesium salt including an anion of a water soluble calcium salt is more effective than a magnesium salt with an anion of a water insoluble calcium salt. These compositions can be used for reducing lime scale or precipitate formation from hard water, removing soap scum, or the like.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions including a water soluble magnesium salt, water soluble calcium salt, and gluconate, which have a beneficial effect on corrosion during cleaning. The present compositions can reduce corrosion of glass, aluminum, or steel. The present invention also relates to methods employing these compositions.
