    Abstract: A process for transferring a coating onto at least one optical surface of a lens blank which comprises : providing a lens blank having at least one geometrically defined surface ; providing a support having an internal surfa ce bearing a coating and an external surface ; depositing on said geometrically defined surface of said lens blank or said coating a pre-measured amount of a curable glue ; moving relatively to each other the lens blank and the suppor t to either bring the coating into contact with the curable glue or bring the curable glue into contact with the geometrically defined surface of the lens blank ; applying a sufficient pressure onto the external surface of the support so that the thickness of a final glue layer after curing is less tha n 100 micrometers ; curing the glue ; and withdrawing the mold part to recover the lens blank with the coating adhered onto its geometrically defined surfa ce.

    Abstract: Un producto adhesivo óptico y un proceso para producir un producto adhesivo óptico, conjuntos de películas laminados y lentes laminadas; el producto adhesivo óptico incluye una solución acuosa de glioxal en la que se ajusta el pH para su uso como un adhesivo óptico que demuestra una resistencia a la fuerza de desprendimiento húmeda por encima de aproximadamente 6 Newtons; se puede añadir un polímero con base acuosa, tal como el PVOH, al sistema adhesivo; de acuerdo con el proceso, se produce el sistema adhesivo con glioxal y se utiliza para laminar películas de TAC-PVA-TAC juntas para formar un conjunto de películas polar; el conjunto de películas polar se lamina hasta conseguir un sustrato óptico y en el caso de lentes oftálmicas, se trata superficialmente, se recubre y se procesan los bordes; el producto adhesivo óptico evita la separación de las películas en el conjunto de películas de TAC-PAV-TAC polar durante el procesamiento de los bordes.

    Abstract: A process for applying a coated or uncoated film onto a surface of a lens substrate which comprises the steps of : providing a liquid hot melt adhesive (HMA) composition comprising: a HMA base polymer and a polymerizable monomer or oligomer applying the liquid HMA composition onto either the surface of a film or a lens substrate drying the applied liquidHMA composition moving the film and the lens substrate relatively to each other to bring them into contact applying pressure on the film; heating to reach a Tmax process Temperature at or above the glass transition temperature (Tg), the monomers or oligomers being liquid at the Tmax process temperature and polymerizing the monomers or oligomers while maintaining pressure and heating.

    Abstract: The invention concerns a process for making a coated optical lens blank free of visible fining lines which comprises: (ix) providing an optical article having at least one fined but unpolished geometrically defined main face; (x) providing a mold part having an internal and external surface; (xi) depositing on said main face of said optical article or on the internal surface of the mold part a requisit amount of a liquid curable coating composition; (xii) moving relatively to each other the optical article and the mold part to either bring the coating composition into contact with the main face of the optical article or into contact with the internal face of the mold part; (xiii) applying pressure to the mold part to spread the liquid curable coating composition on said main face and form a uniform liquid coating composition layer onto the main face; (xiv) curing the liquid coating composition layer; (xv) withdrawing the mold part; and recovering the free of visible fining lines coated optical article.
