Abstract: A chemistry matrix for use in determining the concentration of an analyte in a biological fluid includes a glucose dehydrogenase, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, an alkylphenazine quaternary salt, and a nitrosoaniline. The chemistry matrix is used with an electrochemical biosensor to determine the concentration of an analyte after a reaction occurs within the biosensor, at which time an analysis is completed to determine the concentration. A method of determining the concentration of an analyte using the chemistry matrix of glucose dehydrogenase, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, an alkylphenazine quaternary salt, and a nitrosoaniline is another aspect that is described. The method also further features test times of five seconds or less. Methods utilizing the new chemistry matrix can readily determine an analyte such as blood glucose at concentrations of from about 20-600 mg/dL at a pH of from about 6.5 to about 8.5.

The magazine (134) comprises a large number of cavities (135), and the strip-shaped test elements (136) are received substantially parallel to one another in said cavities (135). A measuring device, with at least one measurement position, and a dispensing device (140, 160) are also provided. The dispensing device (140, 160) comprises means (140, 166) for conveying the at least one test element (136) from at least one storage position of the storage device (134) during opening of the housing (112).

Abstract: The invention relates to a measuring system for in vivo monitoring of an analyte concentration having an electrode system comprising a work electrode (1), a reference electrode (2) and a counter electrode (3) and a potentiostat (4) for adjusti ng a difference of potential between the electric potential of the work electrode (1) and th e electric potential of the reference electrode (2) to a specified value and f or detecting the current flow between the work electrode (1) and the counter electrode (3 ), the potentiostat (4) comprising a work electrode terminal (15) for connection to the work electrode (1), a reference electrode terminal (19) for connection to the reference electrode (2) and a counter electrode terminal (16) for connection to the counter electrode (3). According to the invention there is provided an evaluation un it (9) which monitors the electric potential (U CE) of the counter electrode (3) an d which generates a malfunction signal when said potential comes to lie outside a specified reference range. The invention further relates to a method for detecting malfunctions of a measuring system for in vivo measurement of an analyte concentration using three electrodes (1, 2, 3), where the electric potential (U CE) between the work electrode (1) and the counter electrode(3) is monitored and evaluated according to the invention for detecting malfunctions of the measuring system.

The method of evaluating the suitability of a mobile device (112) for performing an analytical measurement based on a color formation reaction comprises: a) evaluating the capability of the mobile device (112) to have one or more relevant settings of the mobile device (112) controlled by a user's software running on the mobile device (112), the relevant settings pertaining to image raw data processing steps to be carried out by the mobile device (112), wherein the relevant settings include at least one of a color space transformation (132)and a tone mapping transformation (136); b) if the evaluation in step a) indicates that the mobile device (112) is capable of having the one or more relevant settings controlled by the user's software, providing at least one item of control information, the at least one item of control information indicating that the mobile device (112) is suitable for performing the analytical measurement; and c) if the evaluation in step a) indicates that the mobile device (112) is not capable of having the one or more relevant settings controlled by the user's software, providing at least one item of control information, the at least one item of control information indicating that the mobile device (112) is unsuitable for performing the analytical measurement.

Abstract: The connecting device has a tightener for stretching the lancet systems connected with the modules and operating device for activating the stripes. A data exchange device is used to exchange the load information of the test stripes between the modules and has a transponder arranged in the magazine module (110) and a transponder reader arranged in the diagnostic module (112). Erasable programmable read only memory is arranged in the magazine module with vertical gripping section. The exchange and connecting devices are connected by electrical contact. Clamping carriages of the tightener is connected with feeder system. The magazine module exhibits test electrode connected with the diagnostic module and pile magazine for the stripes. Desiccant is brought into the magazine module for decreasing the air humidity. Independent claims are also included for: (1) magazine module; and (2) process for serving a diagnostic system.
