Abstract:
Abstract:
A wireless local area network (WLAN) device transmits a header over an air interface, at a first modulation rate. The header may include an indication of a second modulation rate that will be used to transmit a consolidated payload. In one embodiment, the header includes information that enables a receiver to determine when an end of each of the multiple data units will occur. The device further transmits the consolidated payload at the second modulation rate. The consolidated payload includes multiple data units. In one embodiment, the consolidated payload includes information that enables the receiver to determine when an end of each of the multiple data units will occur.

Abstract:
In a wireless local area network (LAN), a source node initially communicates with a destination node using a direct link. After the destination node moves to a different location and becomes associated with a new access point (AP), the destination node notifies the source node. The source node then tears down the direct link and re-establishes communication with the destination node using the new AP.

Abstract:
A Bluetoothpiconet (11) may be positioned proximate to a node (10) in a local are network and may operate in the 2.4 Ghz band, while a mitigating module (16) is responsible for mitigating interference and a physical layer (12) passes a receive signal strength indicator signal to the mitigating module and to a media access control (MAC) unit (14), also receiving status data from the mitigating module. This information is then provided wirelessly to other nodes to determine when to operate their own physical layer in order to reduce the likelihood of interfering with proximate piconets. Independent claims are included for a medium carrying processor instructions, for a transceiver and for a mitigating device.
Abstract:
Methods and Apparatus including a packet selector are disclosed herein. The packet selector is configured to select and provide to a transmitter two or more packets, wherein at the time the two or more packets are provided to the transmitter, at least one of the provided packets is not definitely to be transmitted by the transmitter. Other embodiments are also disclosed and claimed.
