Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extremely shorten the time required for providing the analyzed result of a skin surface state by performing image analysis through a learning type image measuring system using a self-correlation mask pattern. SOLUTION: A base sheet 1, onto which horny cells are copied, is produced, its image is picked up by an image pickup means 2, the provided image is differentiated by an image differentiation filter 3 and the contrast of the image is improved. Next, the image is analyzed by executing the learning type image measuring system through an image analytic means 4 so that the overlap degree, flatness degree and area degree of cells can be discriminated and based on the overlap degree, flatness degree and area degree of cells, the growing degree of cells is discriminated by a surface state analytic means 5. On the other hand, a transmitted light quantity measuring means 6 measures the quantity of transmitted light in the case of irradiating the base sheet 1, onto which the horny cells are copied, with the prescribed quantity of light and based on this quantity of transmitted light, the surface state analytic means 5 discriminates the strength of release in the case of releasing the cells from the surface of the skin.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and quickly measure and evaluate a shape such as texture of a skin surface by automatically discriminating a classifying class of a transmitted image of a transmission type replica of an optional skin surface by a classifying rule generated by statistically analyzing characteristic information and the classifying class. SOLUTION: First of all, a transmitted image of a transmission type replica of a skin surface is formed by a transmitted image forming means 1 in order to evaluate a skin surface shape. This transmitted image directly and accurately reflects recess-projection information such as texture of the skin surface. Therefore, an image can be highly accurately analyzed more than usual by using the transmitted image as an analutical object. In order to analyze an image of the transmitted image of the transmission type replica, first of all, characteristic information on the transmitted image is extracted by a characteristic information extracting means 2. The characteristic information extracted by this characteristic information extracting means 2 is automatically discriminated by a classifying class discriminating means 4 by a classifying rule of the skin corresponding to its transmitted image on the basis of the classifying rule generated by a classifying rule generating means 3.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a number of cell measuring method and device, which can sample cuticle cells from the skin readily and quickly, can measure the sampled cuticle cells precisely in a short time and can analyze the state of the skin simply. CONSTITUTION:A light emitted device 12 emits the parallel light rays on a transparent adhesive tape T, on which the cuticle cells sampled from the skin are made to adhere. An optical sensor 13 detects the amount of the light transmitted through the transparent adhesive tape T from the light emitting device 12. An A/D converter 14 converts the analog signal from the optical sensor 13 into the digital signal. These parts are provided. The number of the cuticle cells is measured based on the relation between the amount of the transmitted light and the number of the cells, which is computed based on the digital signal with a computer 15.

A surface observer is made up of the camera 1 with the colorimetry function, an image signal processor 14 for converting an image signal from an image sensor of the camera 1 to a digital signal, a colorimetry signal processor 18 which analyzes the light received with the photodetecting section 9 for colorimetry of the camera 1 to be converted to a colorimetry signal, a control arithemetic device 16 which processes signals from the image signal processor 14 and the colorimetry signal processor 18 to be outputted to a monitor 17 and the monitor 17 for displaying an image taken according to the output from the control arithmetic device 16 and the results of the colorimetry.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To analyze the color tone of a skin surface directly in a short time with high accuracy by irradiating a prescribed position of the skin surface with light rays from all circumferential directions and photographing a color image of the position. CONSTITUTION:The prescribed position on the skin surface is illuminated to obtain its color image by a video camera 10. The color image signal of the skin surface from the video camera 10 is converted by an A/D converter 3 into a display digital signal of the color tone of the skin surface, which is inputted to an information processor 4. Then the color image of the input digital signal is displayed on a CRT display device 7. Then the color image displayed on the display device 7 is observed with the naked eye to specify an optional part of the color image on the screen. Then, the color image signal of the indicated part is analyzed by the information processor 4 which includes a storage means 8 for the digital signal and its arithmetic means, a display means 7 and its control means, and a color image processing unit 6. Consequently, the color tone of the skin surface can be analyzed with high accuracy.
