Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp image of a cyan color having good light resistance without fogging by incorporating a compd. of an anthraquinone system into a binder resin. CONSTITUTION:The compd. expressed by formula I is incorporated preferably at 0.1-10pts.wt. into the binder resin. In formula, a benzene nucleus A denotes the same or respectively independently >=1 of an alkyl group, cycloalkyl group, alkoxy group, hydroxyl group, trifluoromethyl group, alkoxyalkoxy group, hydroxylalkyl group, alkylcarbonyl group, alkoxycarbonyl group, alkylcarboxy group, and phenyl group which may be substd. with a halogen atom. The toner which has excellent melt miscibility, is stable in the image density obtd. in continuous copying by repetitive development and has the good fastness to light, etc., of the cyan color is thereby obtd.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable control of the amount of a coloring matter transferred through sublimation, prevent thermal decomposition of the coloring matter during transfer recording and enhance preservability, by varying the energy supplied to a thermal head at the time of thermal transfer of a specified tricyanovinyl red coloring matter. CONSTITUTION:A red coloring matter for thermal sublimation transfer is a compound of the formula, wherein R is acetylamino, propionylamino, methanesulfonylamino, maleido, succinimido, substd. or unsubstd. benzoylamino, phthalimido or 2,3-naphthalimido. The coloring matter have favorable solubility in organic solvents and favorable dispersibility in water, so that it is easy to prepare therefrom an ink in a high concentration in which the coloring matter is uniformly dissolved or dispersed. As a result, recording with a favorable color density can be achieved.

Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:Compds. of formula I wherein X and Y are each nitro, hydroxyl or amino; R is halogen; R is an alkyl, an alkoxy or an ester group; R is an alkyl, an alkoxy or halogen. USE:Blue dyes which dye thermoplastic resins, thermosetting resins, alumina film, silica film, etc. When the dyes are used, filters having excellent colorability can be obtd. and colored filters having excellent resistance to heat and light, sublimation and very excellent spectral properties can be obtd. The coloring can be made by kneading, transferring, dyeing, sublimation and deposition, etc. PREPARATION:Dinitrodihydroxyanthraquinone or tetrahydroxyanthraquinone and its leuco compd. are reacted with an aniline derivative. Par of the dye is then reduced with sodium sulfide to obtain the desired compd.
