Abstract: A phase detector for detecting a mutual phase difference between two signals, such as first and second microwave signals, comprises first and second signal paths for being supplied with first and second input signals of the same frequency, respectively, and providing with a predetermined additional mutual phase difference between the first and second input signals at their output ends and a field effect transistor having a pair of input electrodes connected to the output ends of the first and second signal paths, respectively, and an output electrode from which an output signal representing a mutual phase difference which the first and second input signals have originally therebetween is derived. The first and second input signals at the input electrodes of the field effect transistor have the original mutual phase difference which is to be detected and the predetermined additional mutual phase difference added by the first and second signal paths therebetween. The field effect transistor is biased to operate with a gate bias voltage nearly equal to a pinch-off voltage thereof. In order to establish such biasing state without reducing the operational gain of the field effect transistor, a biasing resistance connected to the source of the field effect transistor is selected to be low and a current source is provided for supplying an external biasing current to the biasing resistance, thereby to produce the gate bias voltage required.

Abstract: A surface acoustic wave filter having a,piezo-electric substrate with a major surface, input and output transducers which are formed on the major surface. Finger electrodes of one of the transducers are made as step type ones to divide the surface wave propagation path into a plurality of surface wave propagation channels. The phase difference of channels and the length of the steps of the finger electrodes are determined to minimize the multiple reflection echo between the input and output transducers. Some ripples in the pass band are improved.

Abstract: Dielectric resonator stabilized micro-strip oscillators in which micro-strip lines are provided to the first, second and third terminals of the active element for oscillation and in which a dielectric resonator coupled at a predetermined position to one of the micro-strip lines which is not used as an output terminal is disclosed. In the integrated microwave oscillator, there is an active element for oscillation such, for example, as GaAs-FET having first, second and third terminals. Micro-strip lines connect to the first and third terminals, and a micro-strip line connected between the first and third terminals form a feedback circuit, together with the first mentioned micro-strip lines. A dielectric resonator is coupled to one of these micro-strip lines which is not used as an output terminal at a predetermined location.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a prohibition voltage of a sole breakdown voltage or more between a channel and a channel formation region to a drain region, a source region and the channel by a method wherein a depletion layer extending from a junction part of the drain region and the channel formation region is overlaid in the channel formation region. SOLUTION: When a reverse bias lower than a junction yield voltage synthesized between a source region and a drain region, and a channel formation region is applied to between a source region 13 and a drain region 12, and a channel formation region 14, a non-volatile semiconductor storage device 10 is formed so that a depletion layer 19a extending from a junction part of the drain region 12 and the source region 13, and the channel formation region 14 is overlaid in the channel formation region. Furthermore, when a high voltage is applied to a gate, a channel is induced to a surface of the channel formation region. At this time, there are some cases where the depletion layer 19b appears between the channel formation region and the channel.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily obtain the optical controller which is small in size and highly reliable by laminating an optical function element and an electric circuit on a single substrate. CONSTITUTION:On the optical crystal substrate having the optical function element where propagated light in an optical waveguide 2 is controlled electrically, the electric circuit which performs electric control over the optical function element is formed, and a buffer layer 11 is interposed at least at the place where the optical waveguide 2 and the metal clad part 10 of the electric circuit are superposed one over the other. This buffer layer 11 is made of a material which has a lower refractive index than the substrate and has effect for reducing the propagation loss at the metal clad part 10 until the loss can be ignored as compared with the propagation loss of the optical waveguide 2 itself. Consequently, the optical controller which is small in size on the whole and easily manufactured and has superior reliability is obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To compensate the delay time variation of a high frequency signal that is transmitted between a rotary part and a fixed part for stabilizing the transmission characteristics of a transmission signal from the rotary part in operation by detecting the position of a rotation angle, followed by controlling the amount of delay of a variable delay means based on the detected rotation angle position. CONSTITUTION:When a modulation output signal obtained by modulating the high frequency signal using a regenerating video signal is supplied to the signal input terminal of the first microstrip 1 at the side of the rotary part 2 from the modulator 7, the modulation signal is transmitted to the terminal side of the first microstrip 1 and is partly transmitted to the second microstrip 3 on the side of the fixed part 4 opposite to the rotary part 2. Although this output signal is accompanied by a delay time variation that is accompanied by the rotation of the rotary part, a variable delay circuit 6 installed at the output terminal compensates this variation. The circuit 6 variably controls an amount of delay in conformity with the position of a rotation angle of the rotary part with the aid of a control part 18 that carries out a control operation based on a detecting signal from a rotation angle position detecting portion 5. The output from the circuit 6 is demodulated by means of a demodulator 12.

Moreover, a 2nd rotary coupler 32 sends a reproducing signal by electromagnetic coupling between coils 37 and 33 arranged to a rotor 33B and a stator 34B. The 1st rotary coupler 31 comprising the microstrip lines 35, 36 in a rotary coupler 30 sends a recording signal superimposed on a carrier having a high frequency of nearly 10MHz and the 2nd rotary coupler 32 comprising the coils 37, 38 sends a reproducing signal at its base band. Thus, the transmission band of the 1st rotary coupler 31 differs entirely from that of the 2nd rotary coupler 32 and so-called crosstalk due to the leakage of the transmission signal is not caused.

CONSTITUTION:The optical waveguide 2 is formed by diffusion of various kinds of atoms or an ion exchange or proton exchange on one main surface of the oxide optical crystal base body 1 consisting of, for example, LiNbO3, etc. The base body is heat treated in the atmosphere contg. ozone O3 in such a manner, by which the propagation (guiding) loss of the optical waveguide 2 is decreased. The insertion loss of, for example, devices for communication and sensing is decreased and the S/N of the signal is increased.
