Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain good transparency and easy slip properties and to prevent the generation of rupture at the time of film formation by providing a base material layer composed of a polyester resin having intrinsic viscosity A and the film layer having thickness Tmum and composed of a polyester resin film having intrinsic viscosity B containing inorg. particles having an average particle size (d)mum and setting A, B, T, (d) so as to satisfy specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:A base material layer composed of a polyester resin having intrinsic viscosity A and the film layer having thickness Tmum and composed of a polyester resin having intrinsic viscosity B containing inorg. particles having an average particle size (d)mum are provided and B, A, T, (d) satisfy conditions of 0.5>=B-A>=0.02 and 25>=T/d>=1.5. The average particle size (d) of the inorg. particles is set to 0.2 - 1.0mum and the addition amount of the inorg. particles to the polyester resin having intrinsic viscosity B is set to 1wt.% or less. When the polyester resin having intrinsic viscosity higher than that of the base material layer is used on the side of the film layer, the rupture at the time of film formation can be reduced. Further, since the height of the projections formed on the side of the film layer by org. particles can be increased at the stretching time of a film, good easy slip properties can be imparted.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a polyester film of superior heat dimension stability both in longitudinal and width directions by carrying out relaxation heat treatment at a specific relaxation rate in the width direction of the polyester film and the relaxation heat treating by a given relaxation rate in the longitudinal direction of the film. CONSTITUTION:Relaxation heat treatment of 1-10% relaxation rate is carried out in the width direction of a film, and then relaxation heat treatment of 0.5-4.0% relaxation rate is carried out in the longitudinal direction of the film by holding both ends of the film with an endless belt, the peripheral speed of which gets slower step by step. The relaxation heat treatment temperature in the longitudinal direction is preferably lower than the heat treatment temperature in the width direction. This is because if the relaxation heat treatment temperature of the longitudinal direction is higher than that of the width direction, the effect of relaxation heat treatment in the width direction is nullified, and a film of good heat dimension stability is hard to prepare. In case the heat treatment temperature in the longitudinal direction is lower than 140 deg.C, the heat dimension stability in the longitudinal direction is difficult to be improved.

SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the polyester film comprises the steps of melt extruding a thermoplastic polyester resin having the specific resistance of 5×10 Ω-cm or more at the melting time of a melting point +10 to 30 deg.C, closely contacting the resin with a cooling drum, and solidifying the resin. The method further comprises the steps of moving a tape-like electrode above a polymer, precipitating a charge at the film of a molten state on the drum by using an electrode unit having a mechanism for always feeding a new tape- like electrode, and closely contacting the film with the drum.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve molding and printing characteristics by mixing a specific quantity of coherent lubricant particles into one of the surfaces of a laminated film comprising three-layers and mixing a specific quantity of a white pigment into an inner layer. SOLUTION: Coherent lubricant particles of 0.01-1 wt.% are mixed into at least one of the surface layers of a laminated film comprising three layers, and 11-50 wt.% of a white pigment is mixed into an inner layer thereof. And as the white pigment, titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate, barium sulfate, magnesium oxide, zinc white, zinc sulfate, lithopone, white lead, basic lead sulfate, etc., are used. And a primary particle diameter of the coherent lubricant particle is 5-100 nm, and degree of coherence is about 100-100,000. If the polyester film for laminating steel plates is laminated to a metal, a high whiteness degree can be obtained and hence printing characteristics can be improved. And when the film is applied to a metal container, abrasion resistance can be improved and further, wear of jig or tool can be reduced.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the upper limit of a sheet forming speed by giving electrostatic charges to a sheet by means of a tape-like electrode and a destaticization is executed at the separation of the sheet. SOLUTION: Electrostatic charges are uniformly given with a tape-like electrode 3 to a melt thermoplastic resin 2 extruded in a sheet out of a mouthpiece 1. An electrostatically charged resin sheet is cooled and solidified on the surface of a cooling drum 4 as the cooling drum 4 rotates so as to form a resin sheet 5, which is separated at its release point 6 so as to be sent through proper guide rolls 7, 8 and 9 to the following process. In this case, a destaticization is executed at a position ahead the release point 6. Since the resin sheet is uniformly given by electrostatic charges and the electrostatic charges are destaticized at the separation of the resin sheet, the favorably tightly adhered state of the resin sheet to the cooling drum is ensured so as to allow to suppress the development of ununiform application and the discharge between the sheet and the drum, resulting in allowing to increase the upper limit speed at the molding of the sheet.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester film for lamination with a metallic sheet or plate, which does not increase an oligomer content after it is laminated with the sheet or plate, is excellent in elution resistance, moldability, impact resistance and taste retention and is desirable for food containers by using a polyester film containing a germanium compound and an antimony compound. SOLUTION: The content of the germanium compound is 0.01-0.1 pt.wt. per 100 pts.wt. polyester resin. The germanium compound is exemplified by germanium oxide or germanium hydroxide. Germanium hydroxide is desirable in respect of taste retention. The antimony compound is exemplified by antimony oxide or ammonium acetate, and antimony trioxide is desirable. The ratio of the content of the germanium compound to that of the antimony compound is desirably 0.01-0.1 in which the film shows improved heat resistance and not lowered taste retention. A metallic sheet or plate laminated with a polyester film made from the composition is desirably used to mold metallic containers such as cans for drinks.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of flatness due to the change difference of a dimension accompanied by a humidity change by adding sulfoisophthalic acid to at least one of the intermediate layers of a laminated film as an acid component in a specific amount. CONSTITUTION:A laminated film consists of three or more layers composed of a polyester resin. This laminated film may be constituted of four or five layers if it is constituted of three or more layers. At least one layer among the intermediate layers of the laminated film, that is, the non-surface layers thereof is composed of a polyester resin containing 0.5-40mol% or sulfoisophthalic acid as an acid component. The polyester resin containing a predetermined amount of sulfoisophthalic acid has high hygroscopicity. As mentioned above, the laminated film has such a structure that the intermediate layer high in hygroscopicity is held between layers relatively low in hygroscopicity in a sandwich state. As a result the deformation of the film is suppressed as a whole by the action of this intermediate layer.
