    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled undrawn yarn like high-quality animal hair, useful as a writing brush, etc., by drawing undrawn yarn comprising butylene terephthalate as a main structural unit, having specific intrinsic viscosity and crosssectional shape in a hot solution bath, winding it around a bobbin under specific conditions, subjecting it to crimping processing. CONSTITUTION:Undrawn yarn having a structural unit comprising >=90mol% butylene terephthalate, 0.6-1.3 intrinsic viscosity, and a crosssectional shape of 5-12 leaves is drawn in a solution bath at >=50 deg.C, the drawn yarn having >=20wt% water content is wound around a bobbin having >=100mm.phi diameter at a lease degree of 2-20 deg. and 0.01-0.5g/d winding tension, subjected to crimping processing for >=2hr, to give the desired undrawn yarn having 40-400 denier of single filament fineness, a degree of rover K(%) shown by the formula I [D is fineness (denier) of drawn yarn single filament], a crimping angle C( deg.) shown by the formula II, and a number T of crimping peaks (peaks/100mm.) shown by the formula III.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled yarn like high-quality animal hair useful as a writing brush, etc., having a cross-sectional shape of plural leaves, by subjecting a polymer comprising butylene terephthalate as a main component to melt spinning from a spinneret having specific values of width and length of slit of spinneret hole, and spinneret area under specific condition. CONSTITUTION:A polyester having structural unit comprising >=90mol% butylene terephthalate is spun by a spinneret having 0.04-0.1mm. width W of slit of spinneret hole, 0.2-0.6mm. length L of slit of spinneret hole, and 0.08-0.3mm. of one spinneret hole area under conditions satisfying the spinning draft DR and the distance l from the spinneret face to the surface of the cooling solution of the extruded yarn shown by the formula I [D is fineness of single filament of drawn yarn (denier)], formula II, and formula III [K is ratio of length to width of slit of spinneret hole; LO is degree of rover (%), to give the desired undrawn yarn having 0.65-1.2 intrinsic viscocity, 40-400 denier of single filament fineness of drawn yarn, a cross-sectional shape of 5-12 leaves, and a degree rover(b/a)X100 of 20-55%.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pile cloth having a soft touch feeling, a good hair lodging resistance and a high covering property of the piling surface in a plain dyeing, and having a good printed color development in printing by containing a fiber having an S-shaped cross section in a specific wt.% in the pile part.
