Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pile fabric having a soft handle, high fiber falling resistance and covering properties of pile face and a wooden feeling caused by difference in brightness and difference in hue on the surface of pile in the case of solid dyeing and excellent color development by printing besides the characteristics of solid dyeing in the case of printing. SOLUTION: This pile fabric comprises a constituent fiber of a pile part composed of 20-100 wt.% of a fiber having a 8-shaped cross-section and 20-80 wt.% of a cation dye dyeable polyester fiber. The ratio a/b of the length/the width of the fiber having the 8-shaped cross-section is in the range of 0.5-3.5 and the single fiber fineness of the constituent fiber of the pile part is 1.5-6 denier.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pile cloth having a soft touch feeling, a good hair lodging resistance and a high covering property of the piling surface in a plain dyeing, and having a good printed color development in printing by containing a fiber having an S-shaped cross section in a specific wt.% in the pile part. SOLUTION: This pile cloth is obtained by containing a fiber having an S-shaped cross section in 20-100 wt.%, preferably 50-200 wt.% in the pile part. It is preferable that the ratio of lengths of vertical to horizontal directions of the S-shaped cross section (a/b) of the fiber is within 0.5-3.5 and that the single fiber fineness of the fiber having the S-shaped cross section is 1.5-6 denier.

CONSTITUTION: This pile fabric is obtained by including 20-100wt.% fiber having 1.5-6.5μm wall thickness (t) and 1-6 denier single fiber size in constituent fibers in a pile part of the pile fabric. Thereby, the discharge printing of a dye used for dyeing the ground can be carried out even to the interior of the fiber to readily afford the whiteness degree of the discharged part.

One of ground dyeing such as cotton dyeing, yarn dyeing or dyeing in cloth liquid, or one of color printing, discharge printing, color printing after discharge dyeing or color printing containing discharge printing agent is applied to pile part- constituting fibers to obtain the objective pile cloth.
