    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject film having excellent slipperiness under high- humidity condition while keeping the transparency and surface gloss of the film by forming protrusions having a specific size on a polyamide film surface at a specific density. SOLUTION: This polyamide film has a surface roughness characterized by the presence of 6-30/mm of protrusions having a height of >=0.06μm from the center line measured by a surface-roughness tester, a haze value of ≃1.0% and a glass of >110. The film can be produced by compounding a polyamide resin with a surface-roughening substance, especially inorganic fine powder, concretely a gel-type silica, etc., forming the composition in the form of a film and drawing the film at an areal draw ratio of >=3. Preferably, >=50wt.% of the polyamide resin is a poly-ε-capramide or a copolymer containing the recurring structural unit of poly-ε-capramide as a main component.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve beam permeability, resistance to heat and the like and further improve tensile elongation, tensile strength and the like by orienting a polygurtarimide resin film or a sheet composed of the pecified structure unit of specified ratio in the monoaxial or biaxial direction in the range of specified orientation temperature and ratio. CONSTITUTION:A film or a sheet is composed of polygurtarimide containing the structural unit of the formula I of 20wt.%. The film or the sheet composed of the formula ((R1 and R2 are hydrogen atoms and/or 1-4C hydrogen carbon, and R3 is composed of one or two kinds selected from hydrogen, 1-12C hydrogen carbon, cycloalkyl, an aromatic radical such as benzyl, phenyl or naphthyl and a heterocyclic compound.) is placed in the temperature range higher by 2-50 deg.C than the glass transition temperature and oriented in the range of 1.2-5.0 times in size.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare the title compsn. excellent in mechanical properties, showing no coloration, and having a good appearance by conducting the anionic polymn. of a lactam in the presence of glass fibers to thereby prepare a compsn. comprising a polyamide and polymer-treated glass fibers. CONSTITUTION:The title compsn. is prepd. by conducting the anionic polymn. of a lactam in the presence of glass fibers and comprises 20-95 pts.wt. polyamide and 80-5 pts.wt. glass fibers treated with at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of polyolefin, polyamide, polyvinyl alcohol, polyurethane, and epoxy resin. The amt. of the polymer deposited on the glass fibers in the treatment pref. is 10wt.% or lower of the glass fibers; a higher amt. then 10wt.% gives no remarkable improvement. The amt. of the glass fibers in the compsn. is 5-80wt.%; that lower than the lower limit hardly exhibits any reinforcing effect while that higher than the upper limit degrades the flowability of the lactam during the anionic polymn., making the preparation of a good molded item difficult.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make mold-release of a moldings easier and to prepare a polyamide moldings having excellent coating performance by injecting a mixture of lactams, alkalinme catalyst and a promoter into a die, on whose surface a water-soluble silicone has been coated, and by polymerization-molding it. CONSTITUTION:In the method for alkaline polymerization of lactams, a water-soluble silicone releasing agent, which can be easily removed with a solvent such as water or alcohols, is coated on a die. The polymerization temp. should be higher than the m.p. of the lactams to be polymerized and below the m.p. of the polyamide to be formed. The silicon releasing agent is soluble in water or alcohol group where hydrophilic group such as polyether, amine, carboxyl group, etc. is substituted for at least one of methyl group in the silicone. The coating quantity of the parting agent on the die is prepared so as not to sag and the die is degreased by water and alcohols such as methanol, ethanol, etc., or a solvent such as trichloroethane. Metals such as iron, aluminum and etc. and their alloys, or resins such as silicone, epoxy, unsaturated polyester, etc. can be used as the material of the die.

SOLUTION: This polyamide consisting essentially of diamines comprising an alicyclic diamine having one cyclohexane ring and dicarboxylic acids comprising a 6-22C branched type saturated carboxylic acid has a preferable composition of 50-99.95 mol.% lactam and/or aminocarboxylic acid, 0.025-25 mol.% diamine and 0.025-25 mol.% dicarboxylic acid, and regulated so that 5-100 mol.% of the diamines may consist of an alicyclic diamine, and 5-100 mol.% of the dicarboxylic acids may consist of a 6-22C branched type saturated carboxylic acid.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a polyamide reduced in water absorbency without lowering mechanical strengths by simultaneously performing the polymerization and molding of epsilon-caprolactam by heating in the presence of a specified alkali catalyst and a promoter. CONSTITUTION:epsilon-Caprolactam is mixed with an alkali metal lactamate in an amount of 0.3-2.5mol% based on the total amount of the epsilon-caprolactam used in the polymerization and molding and in such an amount that the amount of polyamide oligomers in the alkali metal lactamate is 0.5wt.% or below based on the epsilon-caprolactam used in the polymerization and molding, and also with at least one promoter selected from an at least bifunctional aliphatic isocyanate and carbamide lactam and used in an amount to give an equivalent ratio of the alkali catalyst to the functional groups of the promoter of 0.5-3.0. The obtained mixture is agitated at 70-130 deg.C and filled into a mold heated to 130-190 deg.C to effect polymerization and molding for 2-10min.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily obtain high-molecular 2-pyrrolidone polymer having excellent thermal stability and high purity by washing 2-pyrrolidone polymer obtained by suspension polymerization with an aqueous acid solution having a specific pH and then with an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:2-pyrrolidone is suspension-polymerized in an aprotic solvent (e.g. tetrahydrofuran) in the presence of a basic polymerization catalyst (e.g. potassium hydroxide) and a promoter comprising a combination of carbon dioxide and a metal salt of a higher fatty acid (e.g. sodium laurate). The obtained 2-pyrrolidone polymer is washed with an aqueous acid solution having a pH of 1-6 and then with an organic solvent (e.g. ethanol). Thus, high-purity 2-pyrrolidone polymer can be easily obtained which has excellent thermal stability and a high mol.wt.
