    Abstract: Presented herein is a novel sliding door system that that enables adjustment of at least two sliding doors relative to each other such that surfaces of the sliding doors create a substantially flush surface a support onto which the sliding door mechanism is mounted. The system includes at least one inner and outer sliding door slidably coupled to corresponding guide rails. The guide rail that is coupled to the outer sliding door is selectably moveable by a sliding door mechanism between a first and a second position. In the first position, a user can slide outer and inner sliding doors along said guide rails, whereas in the second position, a surface of the outer sliding door is substantially flush with a surface of said inner sliding door.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, an automatic moving panel includes: a panel housing; a power source contained within the panel housing; a first motor contained within the panel housing and coupled to the power source; a second motor contained within the panel housing and coupled to the power source; a control circuit contained within the panel housing and coupled to the power source for controlling operation of the first and second motors; at least one first wheel extending downwardly from a bottom surface of the panel housing and coupled to the first motor, wherein the at least one first wheel is configured to be raised and lowered with respect to the bottom surface of the panel housing in response to mechanical forces generated by the first motor; and at least one second wheel extending downwardly from the bottom surface of the panel housing and coupled to the second motor, wherein the at least one second wheel automatically rotated in response to mechanical forces generated by the second motor, thereby moving the panel housing in a desired direction.

    Abstract: An internally powered sliding panel has a power source and drive train contained internally within the stiles and rails of a frame. A driven wheel is rotatably mounted on the frame and connected to the power source via the drive train. The panel may further include a lift system including a second power source, a lift mechanism, and a lift drive which are contained internally within the stiles and rails of the frame. The power sources, drive train, lift mechanism, and lift drive may be contained completely inside the stiles and rails of the frame. The movement of the panel along a fixed path, and the raising and lowering of the panel, may be regulated by a control system. The control system includes a microcontroller and sensor used to determine the position of the panel.

    Abstract: An item of furniture including a furniture carcass, a door wing movably-supported relative to the furniture carcass, and a furniture hinge for movably supporting the door wing, the furniture hinge being hingedly connected to the door wing. A receiving compartment is arranged in or on the furniture carcass for at least partially receiving the door wing, and the receiving compartment is defined by a sidewall of the furniture carcass. At least one cover is configured to be moved at least between a first operating position, in which the cover at least partially covers the receiving compartment, and a second position, in which the cover unblocks the receiving compartment.
