    Abstract: Window raising device electrically and manually operated, of simple construction and providing for a firm retention of the window in order to obtain a burglar-proof window. A carriage (22) fixed to the window (23) and sliding in a guide (1) is secured at both ends of a flat belt (8) which slides on two return pads (6 and 7) made of synthetic material. Said belt is perforated or toothed in its portion passing on a toothed drum (9). Said drum is slidingly mounted on a gear of a main sliding shaft which traverses an electrically driving mechanism (11). The sliding of the main shaft disengages the latter from the motor drive but does not disengage its gear from the gun (9) in order to make possible a manual drive. The device is usable in a door or in a fixed part of a motor vehicle.

    Abstract: Motor control apparatus is disclosed for a motor-driven vehicle power window mechanism (l0) including a flexible drive element, such as a drive tape, adapted to drive the window in a predetermined direction by being placed in tension by a motor (ll) of the mechanism (l0). The tension of the flexible drive element is relieved by automatically reversing the direction of rotation of the motor (ll) for a short time when the window reaches the desired position. The reverse motor rotation is accurately controlled to an amount sufficient to relieve drive tension, but insufficient to produce unwanted reverse movement of the window, by detecting the pulses of the armature ripple current as successive commutator bars of an armature of the motor (ll) pass the brushes (l2) during reverse motor rotation, integrating these pulses and stopping the reverse motor operation when the integrated value reaches a predetermined reference.
