Abstract:
A hinge system for opening a cover pivotably connected to a device housing. The hinge system includes a rotating member (26) in the device housing and a shaft (20) connected between the cover and the rotating member (26). A non-rotating member (28) in the device housing receives the rotating member (26) and a spring (30) connected to the device housing and biased to rotate the shaft (20).
Abstract:
A method of feeding an animal in a feeding box. The method comprises at least the following steps, the steps a-c not necessarily taking place in the given sequence: a) identifying the animal in the feeding box, b) closing the feeding box, in such a way that access to the feeding box is impeded for an animal outside the feeding box, c) supplying feed to the animal in the feeding box in a chosen eating period of time. An installation for feeding an animal, which installation is provided with a frame that encloses at any rate at least partially a frame area. A neutral position means for positioning a passage means into one particular neutral position.
Abstract:
Furniture hinge with damping and/or braking device in alternative to those already existing and capable of guaranteeing an improved efficiency during the closing or opening operation of the doors, or other furniture parts, thanks to an improvement of the kinematic motion for transmitting motion from one of the rockers to the damping elements. The improved efficiency of this hinge is also obtained by increasing the friction surfaces with a viscous medium present in suitable areas of the hinge and by allowing regulation of the trend of the angular velocity of a circular shaped element, for example a disc, which acts as braking element in contact with the viscous medium.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A sliding plug door comprising a door member (10, 11) movable in relation to an opening in a structure of a vehicle between a closed position in which it at least partially occupies the opening and an open position in which at least part of the door member (10, 11) overlies the vehicle structure alongside the opening, comprising a first drive means (30, 31, 32, 33) for effecting a first movement of the door member inwardly and outwardly of the door opening, to and from its closed position; and a second drive (51, 52, 53, 54, 55) means for effecting a second movement of the door member laterally when it lies outwardly of the opening, to and from its open position.

Abstract:
A power-operated system (32) for actuating the rear doors or liftgates (18) of motor vehicles (10) is disclosed. The system includes a strut assembly having two struts (30), each strut mounted on one side of the door between the door and the vehicle's door frame. One end of each strut (30) is connected to a powered moving arm (40). To open the door, the arms (40) move to change the angular orientation of the struts (30) such that they have a substantial mechanical advantage. In this position, the force provided by the struts (30) overcomes the weight bias of the door (18), thus opening the door. To close the door, the moving arms (30) change the angular orientation of the struts (30) such that the struts have a decreased mechanical advantage, reducing the force provided by the struts, and therefore allowing the door (18) to fall closed under its own weight bias. A control system for controlling the power-operated system (32) is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A process is disclosed for controlling the displacement of the window pane of a motor vehicle door. As soon as the window pane is lowered, the window lifter drive is driven to lift the pane until the system slack of the displacing mechanism caused by the displacement of the window pane in the previous direction is compensated for. When the top edge of a free-standing, frameless window pane is lowered over a short distance out of a form-fitting sealing border on the car body, the opening of the car door generates, a signal which is transmitted to an electronic evaluation unit, and the drive of the window lifter is activated to lower the window pane until the window pane has moved from its closed position to a predetermined, partially open position. When the vehicle door is closed, a further signal is generated to automatically close again the automatically lowered window pane. While the drive is driven to automatically lower the window pane, a first phase of its adjusting movement is provided to compensate for the system slack of the window lifter mechanism and a second phase of its adjusting movement is provided to lower the window pane over a certain distance.
Abstract:
Apparatus for opening and closing a gate, including an elongate member arranged to support one end of a gate, such that said gate can pivot between an open position and a closed position, characterised by a cam follower (15) and a co-acting cam track (16), formed on a body, one of the can follower (15) and the cam track (16) being connected to the elongate member and the other of the cam follower (15) and the cam track (16) being connected to the gate, the cam track (16) and the cam follower (15) being shaped such that as the cam follower (15) is moved along the cam track (16) in either direction from a central region of the cam track (16), the cam follower (15) and said body are moved apart.
Abstract:
A device for pivoting a pivotable structure member (25), e.g. a door, a flap or a hood of e.g. a car body (24), which is moveable along a track about a hinge (26), which pivoting is effected with aid of magnets (20). These are located along but some distance outside the pivoting area of the structure member (25), and they are arranged via an air gap to exert a magnetic force e.g. upon its lower edge. The magnets (20) are moveable along a predetermined track or alternatively fixedly arranged in a pattern, thus that at a relative movement between the car body (24) and the magnets, the structure member (25) is exerted to a pivoting movement about its hinge (26).
