Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding stud, allowing easy fixing of an electric terminal without using a nut requiring a tool, and a protective cap capable of keeping the terminal contact portion of the stud clean when coating a vehicle panel having the stud fixed thereto. SOLUTION: An electric grounding welding stud 23 includes a cylindrical body elongated in a longitudinal direction, a head and a neck having a reduced diameter, and has spiral threads projecting from the body. The threads are arranged at predetermined intervals in the lateral direction. Each of the threads surround around the body at less than 360 deg. in a spiral manner. In order to prevent the threads of the welding stud 23 from being polluted during coating, a protective cap 121 is provided with a cylindrical portion 123, an integral hinge 125 and a pawl 127, and is fitted detachably to the stud.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily conduct an adjustment and maintenance of a portable and automatic feed riveting system by respectively modularizing an electrical control module, an air control module, a run away stop mechanism, a connection assembly and a remote control pressure booster so as to demount them from a housing as an unit. SOLUTION: A housing is divided to two sections by a partition wall, an air control module 36 is desirably accommodated in a first section, a rivet feed device, a run away stop mechanism and a remote control pressure booster 40 are accommodated in a second section. The rivet feed device is controlled by an electrical control module 34, the run away stop mechanism 26 controlled by the air control module 36 receives a rivet from the rivet feed device. A rivet transfer tube 30 connects the run away stop mechanism 26 to a rivet fastening tool 12 to send out a rivet. A mandrel recovery tube 49 connects the rivet fastening tool 12 to a mandrel recovery system 47.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate removal of a cap from a welding stud by providing the cap with at least one plastically deformable part that is extended over a part of the length in the axial direction of the shank and that is formed between two tool engaging areas. SOLUTION: The structural unit is provided with a metallic welding stud having an area adjacent to a small diameter shank 9 so that a stepped part is formed, and with a cap 2 that is made of a plastic material and that is attached to and in contact with the stepped part on the shank 9. The cap 2 is provided with a plastically deformable parts 14a-14c between the tool engaging areas 15a, 15b. In removing the cap 2, the parts 14a-14c are at least partially deformed by moving jaws 20, 21 in the direction of a patch material 22, allowing the cap 2 to release the shank 9 at least partially, enabling the cap 2 to be torn in the axial direction of the shank 9, and thereby eliminating the need of exerting a high power for it.

The transfer structure having the transfer area for arranging the part is provided with at least one catch unit 17. This catch unit 17 is provided with at least one catch element 18. The catch element 18 is disposed to face the head guide duct 13, and the inside thereof is penetrated at least partially. This can be displaced from the head guide duct 13 against a spring force.

In any of the cases, radial direction elasticity of the lock stud 1 given by a slot is increased by an additional axial direction hole 9.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft such that the weights of clubs, the balance between the flexibility and rigidity of the shaft, and the torsion characteristic of the shaft are uniform and match one another in one set. SOLUTION: A grip 18 is formed on the thick end 20 of the shaft 12 of a golf club 10, an a club head 22 is attached to the end 24 of the shaft 12. The shaft 12 is made of a nonmetallic material, e.g. a hardened plastic base with fibers therein, its middle part 26 being tapered. The middle part 26 includes two sections 28, 30 that taper at different inclinations. An increased diameter part 32 is formed near the inside edge of the end 24 of the shaft 12. The increased diameter part 32 is formed of a central cylindrical part 34 and transit parts 36, 38 at both ends of the cylindrical part. The cross section of either part of the increased diameter part 32 is greater in diameter than the immediately adjoining shaft 12. An axial hole is bored in the increased diameter part 32, the diameter of the hole being smaller than the diameter of the immediately adjoining shaft 12.

The arms 2 and 3 are freely removably connected to the base 4 respectively. At least one spring member 10 or 11 is arranged on at least one of the arms 2 and 3. Consequently, it can contribute to the atomization of welding.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a blind rivet setting tool that enables conversion between different stroke settings by providing a spare set of parts for short and long stroke operations. CONSTITUTION: A first set of parts to be assembled in the tool is formed with a piston rod 38 having a piston 40 fitted in a bore 8. A first head member 10 is provided with a flange 12 and a slightly smaller diameter portion 16 which is positioned while being faced with an orifice 4. A piston rod in a second set of parts is designed to have a longer front and rear portions than those of the piston rod 38 of the first set of parts. The rear portion 44 of the piston rod 38 is provided so as to make it freely slidable in the exit path 36 of the second head member 24. A short stroke is operated with the first parts while a long stroke is operated with the second parts. As a result, a simple conversion is possible from a short powerful setting stroke to a longer, less powerful stroke.
