The present invention relates to a composition for improving antioxidant activity or growth of a plant comprising a lacquer tree extract as an effective component. The lacquer tree extract of the present invention can be safely supplied to a consumer as urushiol which is a toxic material causing allergy is removed, promotes initial rearing of the plant, increases expression of genes related to salt resistance and drought resistance, pathogen, wound, and stress, and promotes antioxidant activity. Accordingly, the lacquer tree extract of the present invention is safe to a user, and can be industrially used as a biofertilizer for improving antioxidant activity or growth to agricultural crops.

The present invention relates to a method for producing laver and a use of the same, wherein Pinus Koraiensis oil (phytoncide) produced from a Pinus Koraiensis byproduct is mixed with Canola oil, olive oil, sesame oil, cone oil, bean oil, grape seed oil, sunflower oil, perilla seed oil, avocado oil, almond oil, garlic oil, safflower seed oil, pumpkin seed oil, linseed oil, castor oil, rape seed oil, brown rice oil, coconut oil, peanut oil, cotton seed oil, and cocktail oil in order to be coated on the laver. In particular, the method of the present invention comprises a step of producing mixed oil by mixing edible oil with the Pinus Koraiensis oil (phytoncide) extracted from a pine cone or a pine leaf using water or an organic solvent. The laver coated with the Pinus Koraiensis oil has excellent anti-microorganism activities, and the oil of the laver has an extended acidification period. Accordingly, the shelf life is extended, and the laver of the present invention can be widely used as health food which adds value to a company.

The present invention relates to a method for producing an ultrafine powder of cultured wild ginseng roots having reduced water absorption index (WAI) or swelling power (SW) and increased water solubility index (WSI) and particular ginsenoside content, wherein the method comprising a step of grinding cultured wild ginseng roots using a low-temperature ultrafine grinder; to an ultrafine powder of cultured wild ginseng roots having reduced water absorption index (WAI) or swelling power (SW) and increased water solubility index (WSI) and particular ginsenoside content; and to a food and a beverage containing the ultrafine powder of cultured wild ginseng roots. The ultrafine powder of cultured wild ginseng roots produced using a low-temperature grinder according to the present invention has a significantly reduced particle size, thereby changing the structure of the cultured wild ginseng roots and increasing the surface area thereof, and thus improving the texture feeling and increasing availability and absorptivity in the body. Therefore, processed products manufactured from the ultrafine powder of cultured wild ginseng roots allow active ingredients to be easily digested and absorbed into the body, contributing greatly to the health food industry using ginseng.

The present invention relates to a method for producing a ginseng adventitious root having increased antimicrobial activity comprising a step of culturing the ginseng adventitious root through light emitting diode (LED) irradiation at a blue wavelength range of 440-480 nm or a red wavelength range of 610-650 nm; to a ginseng adventitious root having increased antimicrobial activity produced by the method; and to a food or beverage containing the ginseng adventitious root having increased antimicrobial activity. According to the present invention, panax ginseng or wild ginseng having increased antimicrobial activity can be efficiently produced, and thus the present invention is very useful in medical and food industries.

The present invention relates to a method for producing a ginseng adventitious root having an increased content of a specific antioxidant by culturing the ginseng adventitious root through light emitting diode (LED) irradiation; to a ginseng adventitious root having an increased content of specific antioxidant produced by the method; and to a food containing the ginseng adventitious root having an increased content of the specific antioxidant. According to the present invention, the ginseng adventitious root having an increased content of a specific antioxidant through LED irradiation can be efficiently produced, and thus the present invention is very useful in medical and food industries.

An extract of Hibiscus cannabinus L., Malvaceae is provided to control the function of macrophage by inhibiting generation of TNF-alpha, mRNA expression of interleukin(IL)-3 and IL-12, and generation of nitric oxide(NO), prostaglandin(PGE2) and reactive oxygen species(PROS), thereby being useful for preventing and treating diseases by immuno-reaction. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating inflammation comprises an extract of Hibiscus cannabinus L. Malvaceae as an effective ingredient, wherein the extract is prepared by extracting the Hibiscus cannabinus L. with at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of water, C1-4 alcohol, glycerol, propylene glycol, 1,3-butyleneglycol, ethylacetate, benzene, hexane, diethyl ether and dichloromethane, filtering the extract and concentrating the filtrate.
