Abstract: PURPOSE: A deciding method of cooking finish time in a microwave oven is provided to decide the time point having the cooking state value of cooking material reaches specific set value, as the finish time of cooking. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer generates microwaves from a magnetron and rotates a turntable when a user puts popcorn in a cavity and selects a cooking mode. The microcomputer obtains the maximum value and the minimum value of 20 detected data from each rotation of the turntable and operates the difference(C) therebetween. The microcomputer multiplies the maximum difference(C') of 5th rotation by a first set coefficient(A) when the turntable is rotated 5 times. Then the microcomputer multiplies the maximum difference(C') of 8th rotation by a second set coefficient(B) if the turntable is rotated 8 times. The microcomputer performs the cooking mode by increasing the 1cycle of the turntable. The microcomputer obtains the maximum difference(C') of 9th rotation and multiplies the difference by the second coefficient. The microcomputer finishes the cooking mode if the multiplied value is similar to the difference of the 10th rotation. Therefore, the microwave oven provides convenience to a user by automatically cooking various foods through simple operation of a function key.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A thawing method of a microwave oven is provided to thaw food in a microwave oven during the set thawing time decided by predetermined convergence characteristic data depending on various weight of frozen food. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer generates microwaves and rotates a turntable at specific velocity when a user puts food in a cavity and selects a thawing mode. The microcomputer obtains detecting data(S) by adding each voltage value detected from a cooking sensor per rotational cycle of the turntable. Then the microcomputer calculates the accumulated value(sigma-S) by adding the detecting data of each rotational cycle. The microcomputer decides if the accumulated value is converged in convergence characteristic waveform. If so, the microcomputer measures the weight of the frozen food by corresponding to the converged data value and lengthens the thawing time much as the predetermined rotational cycle.
