    Abstract: PURPOSE: A navigation system and a location detection method thereof are provided to update the navigating scenes rapidly even if accurate location information is not received from a GPS since a moving object moves again after stop. CONSTITUTION: A navigation system comprises a GPS receiver(120), an ECU(Electronic Control Unit) information receiving part(140), and a controller(110). The GPS receiver receives the location information from a GPS satellite. The ECU information receiving part receives the driving related information of a moving object from ECU of the moving object. Using the driving related information of the moving body received by the ECU information receiving part for a predetermined time after the moving object stopped, the controller produces the location of the moving object. The controller comprises a velocity calculating unit, a rotating direction sensor, a location calculating unit and a route mapping part. The velocity calculating unit computes the velocity of the moving object using the location information. The rotating direction sensor computes the current rotating direction of the moving object using the information obtained from the ECU information receiving part. The location calculating unit determines the location of the moving object. The route mapping part creates the travelling information of the moving object using the location of the moving object obtained by the location calculating unit and a map.
