PURPOSE: A composition containing esculin is provided to prevent or treat diseases caused by hyperglycemia and renal diseases. CONSTITUTION: A composition for reducing blood glucose contains 0.001-10 wt% of esculin, an esculin derivative, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, or a solvate thereof as an active ingredient. The composition is a pharmaceutical composition or a health food composition. The composition is used for preventing or treating hyperglycemia or diabetes.

PURPOSE: A processed ginseng extract is provided to manufacture a pharmaceutical composition and a health food composition with enhanced content of ginsenoside Rg5 and Rk1. CONSTITUTION: A processed Panax ginseng sp. plant extract is prepared by Maillard browning reaction of a Panax ginseng sp. plant extract with one or more amino acids selected among leucine, glutamine, lysine, and arginine at 100-130°C for 0.5-12 hours. A pharmaceutical composition for alleviating side effects of an anticancer agent, for improving antioxidation, anticancer, or anti-inflammatory effect, brain function, or cognitive function, for suppressing platelet aggregation, or treating dermatitis or psoriasis containing the processed Panax ginseng sp. plant extract.

PURPOSE: A potassium styrenyl trifluoroborate and a method for preparing the same are provided to easily and quickly prepare various kinds of novel styrenyl compounds. CONSTITUTION: A potassium styrenyl trifluoroborate derivative is denoted by chemical formula 1. A method for preparing the derivative comprises a step of reacting a potassium halo aryl trifluoroborate derivative and an alkene compound under the presence of a palladium catalyst. The palladium catalyst is selected from the group consisting of palladium(II)chloride(PdCl_2), palladium(II) acetate(Pd(OAc)_2), bis(triphenylphosphine) palladium(II) chloride(PdCl_2(PPh_3)_2), bis(dibenzylidene acetone) palladium(0)(Pd(dba)_2), tetrakis(triphosphine) palladium(0)(Pd(PPh_3)_4), [1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)-ferocene]palladium(II) dichloride dichloromethane complex (PdCl_2(dppf)_2·CH_2Cl_2), and chloro[(1,3-dimesitylimidazole-2-ylidene)(N,N-dimethylbenzylamine)palladium(II)].
